Most motorcycles have a side stand safety switch. If you forget to put your side stand up and put the motorcycle in gear it is designed to turn the engine off . If you put the side stand up before putting the bike in gear , it will remain running. This is so you do not drive down the road with your side stand down, take a left turn, and crash your motorcycle.
I believe the simultanous pressing of both the right and left turn signal buttons is also used to set the or disable the security system. You may have a "conflict" that is so common with computerized stuff.
The bike is supposed to shut down if the kick stand is down. It is a safety feature designed to prevent starting out with the stand down, which can be very inconvenient on your first left turn. If you are saying the bike runs with the stand down when cold, then the switch must be in need of adjustment. Please rate my answer.
