Have the valves adjusted at the proper interval. Sounds lilke a loose valve, nothing too serious. Just needs to be adjusted soon.

2006 Shadow Aero VT750: observed oil leak from breather cap on final drive housing. Temp during ride was 30's; could a seal have been cold and not functioning until the bike was warm? No oil was observed...

I think you are quite correct. The neoprene rubber oil seals like to be warm to grab the bearing properly.
Keep your eye on it though.

If your bike were a 1959 650cc Triumph Thunderbird, like mine, I would have said you have run out of oil!

Ride safely.

My 2004 Honda shadow aero vt750 is running poorly. It only idles with the choke nearly fully engaged. I have added carb cleaner and changed the plugs. What else should I do?

has the bike been sitting for a time ..sounds like the carbs need pulled and cleaned..you could try draining the fuel out at the float bowls there should be drain screws at the bottom there could be dirt or water in them sometimes this will help without pulling them ..good luck
