I can tell you from experience this isn't a common problem. Air cooled engines will lose a small amount of power due to heat (in traffic or idling) but usually regain most of it when on the open road. Your coils may be getting overheated or may be bad, it could also be too narrow of a gap in your spark plugs. What does it do exactly before it dies?I can tell you from experience this isn't a common problem. Main circuit breakers were a problem on the older bikes, problem being when over heated the would pop and you would lose all power to the bike. Now if you bike is dying and you still have power and are able to crank it but it wont start, then I'd be looking at you CPS not the main breaker. One way to tell if it's CPS is to remove it when bike doesn't start. Wipe all the oil off, take a can of compressed air blow it on the CPS to cool it down, put back in bike and start it, If it starts then the sensor is bad.
i am going to guess that it won't restart immediately after it dies either. It sounds to me like an ignition module going bad. it gets hot then cuts off the spark, once it cools down it starts and runs again until it gets hot again
More likely to be your ignition coils. They heat up and expand this can cause an open circuit which will close up again when it has cooled down. Although, a bad charging system may cause this problem. Check the battery voltage with engine switched off ( approx 12 volts) and with the engine running (approx 14 volts) If you are getting 14 volts then your battery is dead, if you aren't, then your charging system has a fault.
The next time you run the trimmer and it starts to die, loosen the gas cap. It should start to run again. This means that the gas cap is clogged. Either clear the gas cap or buy a new one. This should solve the problem.
it may not be the coil. i got a bike that didnt run right, it came with box of spare parts and about 5 extra sets of coils. when i was talking to some buddies about what my bike was doing they told me that it was the coil. then i was talking to another buddy that used to work on motorcycles professionally he told me to check the points. I checked and adjusted them and now it runs just fine. so what i am trying to say is check your points before buying new coils.
How old is your mower ? Sounds like points and condensor if older model ,or ignition module if its newer , points tend to stick together when they get old causing no spark at plug when they cool they come appart allowing it to spark again , module is sort of the same except you have no way of replacing points you have to replace module .

It is not common or normal for any modern engine to die when hot, then start again when cool. What have you checked so far?
engine starts and runs bad , dies and will not start again for awhile
