Just measure your fork leg diameters and compare them to the yz ! you could also see if the yz fork clamp headstock bearings and steering tube will fit your bike !

Hi ........... One tooth less will give you more top speed (if you can pull top revs) but will reduce accelleration. If you go for one tooth less you'll need to tighten the chain and/or remove a link. It's a trade off ............ decide what you want the bike to do.

You don't decode it. It is only a production run series number. Mororcycles are like cars in that respect. It is the frame number, AKA the "VIN number", is what carries all the information. Call a dealer with the frame number and he can tell you year, paint color, specific model and more. They may have a problem if the bike is too old. Yamaha changed to a newer code system a few years back.

Service manual says oil capacity is 19.4 oz. per leg which is 573.726 ml per leg. Be sure that you have drained all the old fork oil out first.
