Where is my starter motor at on my 1997 yzf 750?

Forget the above answer.

Remove the chain
Remove the gear shift lever
Remove the 3 bolts that hold the engine in place
Remove the air box
Pull the motor and remove the engine.


Or

Remove the airbox
Remove the 2 bolts holding the carb on
Remove the fuel line ( turn fuel off)
Pull the carb

check the starter solonoid connections are not loose or corroded

yes they are the same basic engine, just larger bore and different stroke lenght on the 750

plugs or igniter under the seat

Sounds like you need some plugs and the carbs cleaned and synchronized.

check the main grounds on the bike, also check the main starter relay.
