I had the same same problem with my 1992 vulcan 750. more than likely it is your reserve lighting devive located on the right side battery box. have you had a problem with your regulator/rectifier lately or a power surge of some type?

I have had zero problems with this bike. I didn't even notice the light went out. I started the bike, rode it out to get tires put on and they checked the light and said I needed a relay switch. They kept the bike for three weeks and still hadn't even ordered the part, andsaid they were so busy it would be at least another week before they could get to it, so I brought the bike home. I don't have another shop near by to take it to, so I was going to try and fix it myself.

I need to know what the relay switch looks like and where on the bike to find it.

Mine is a '79 Yamaha. This relay is not available from anyone new. You'll have to buy a used one Buyer beware. 2' x2" x1.5" four spade connectors.Located under the tank.

I own a 2004 Vulcan nomad and I also had the same problem. My headlight was working fine, until I switch it over to the HID. When I put the HID on, it doesn't seem to work. Then I put my original bulb back on, but for some reason it doesn't work anymore. The original bulb works fine, and there is nothing wrong with the fuse on the right side of the bike. Can't Figure out what's wrong with it. Does Anybody know?

Then you need to check the wiring leading to the switch. The handle bar switch may be corroded and therefore, power can pass thru to the contact when it's switched to on.

2007 Kawasaki 900 Classic Cruiser. The headlights and tail lights not working but brake lights do work.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks.

It can only be the headlight switch or the wiring.

The brake lights work from power, plus the brake switch and the lamp.

The headlights work from power to headlight switch to the headlight lamp and the tail light lamp.

Apparently the headlight does work via a relay so test that.

No headlight fuses and bulb are good

Your starter button is dirty or bad. The starter button does two things. Push it in halfway and the lights turn off to put more power to the ignition and starter. Push the button in all the way and the solenoid engages. Try cleaning the starter button. If it will not work after cleaning you may have to buy a new right switch assembly.

Headlight not working...bulb and fuse are good

check fuses first... if ok, buy an electrical tester from walmart for $5 and see if it's getting any electrical to the headlight.. if it is.. replace bulb

It's at least a good starting point.

I have a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 and the headlight suddenly stopped working. I looked for fuses and can't find any. The headlight appears to be good. Any suggestions?

you can remove the head light bulb, power the bulb with a charger or check it with voltmeter. if bulb is good, make sure the ground is good on the light housing. if fuses are good, could be the actual switch on the handlegrips
