While riding my 1982 Suzuki GS 650 G I have oil leak on the front of the motor coming out on the right side getting my work boot and the side of the bike wet with oil. I had a new headgasket put on to solve the small leak that was coming from that area. When I got the bike back there was a terrable leak from the lower cylinder gasket so I, like a dummy, took it back to the same place and had the lower gaskets and rings replaced.The bike runs just fine, but now it has a leak I can't seem to find even with automotive engine oil leak dye.
Anybody have a similar problem with this?
Its funny you should mention this but yes, I had its bigger brother the GS 850 G , same problem, Apparently, in my situation I did the same thing and went to the shop and let those butchers make it worse !!!, the way i found my leak was by washing the motor with a grease and oil cleaner , strayed the whole motor and wash it all off totally, then I turn her on and let her get to operating temp went for a few mile and came back and checked it, for me it was the head gasket the guys put on and i forced them to do it again,
I found out later that it was common with the suzi's of that model and ended up doing it myself, I used the original gasket and used a compound called gasket goo and it never leaked through out the 8 years i had it .
But before you do anything , surly they gave you warrant y on the work so take it back and demand they do it properly.

Thanks for the tip on the headgasket, roadrunning1. I'm trying to solve it another way rather than remove the cylinder head. I'm trying some sealer on the outside of the cylinderhead to cylinder area. This stuff hardens like a rock. I worked on it yesterday, and rode it home (6 miles) and no signs of a leak. I'll be riding it some this weekend so time will tell .
