1995 cutlass ciera stop light and third light don't work

check the 2nd wire from positive side of battery that goes to plug about 15 inches away, inplug turn lights on then replug, had a loose connection

There is a short somewhere.I would first check the brake light wires inside the trunk for grounding out on metal somewhere.

Batter charged? Could be a starter also. And dirty cables. Does the interior lights work or head lights.

your terminology is wrong.if it cranks its turning over what you mean is it won`t start(fire up) as you said at the beginning.anyways it sounds like you could have a fuel pump problem that stop working.this happens alot.you should check for spark at the plugs to make sure its not an ignition problem.did you notice a check engine light on when it was running.if so there will be a code in the ecm and may be the cause of your problem.

Check all of your bulbs, and check for good grounds at ALL external lights. When testing lights be sure to test with running lights on and off.....

One possibly/likely problem is that the ignition circuit is cutting out. I had this same issue on a car (malibu) and found it was an intermittent ignition switch connection. Replacing the ignition switch fixed it for good.
One thing that will really help you is to notice you dash lights when this happens. If the dash lights go out when the car stops, then this is it. If the dash lights (ignition) stay on, then you have another issue.

I would check the brakes,and rotors,all the way around,then the wheel bearings.If it all checks out good,then it is most likely a wheel sensor for the abs,antilock brakes.

i have and injector test done the tail lights n brake lights use a dual filament bulb u might just need new bulbs

check for a crossed filament in the brake lamp bulbs on the right side. have seen this many times before- usually at 5:00 on fridasy when i was on the way out the door
