I have a 05 Yamaha Kodiak 450. I can run all over the wood and no problems, but if I open her up on the road about 35-40 after a few min it will backfire and it is like someone is cutting off the gas. If I keep going it keeps backfiring and slowly losses power and comes to a stop and dies. It will start right back up and run fine intill I open it up again and will do the same thing. Run 35-50 mph for about 5-10 min, and backfire and starts losing power intill you come to a stop and it dies. I just go this ATV a week ago, do not know about its history. Can any one help?

SOURCE: bogs down

Even though this is an old post i feel it needs an answer since there is 225 followers wanting an answer. This situation sounds as if this vehicle is either suffering from the Throttle Position Sensor switch which has bad spots in it causing lack of voltage or the Fuel rail pressure regulator which can not keep the fuel pressure built up in the fuel rail making the auto veel like it is running out of fuel. And the transmission speed densor which also controls fuel. The situations for each device has a test that can be done to determine which one it is. And last but not least lets never forget our fuel filter this can cause the exact same problem. I am eliminating the cam sensor because it stabilizes at idle. Eliminating the crank sensor because it too at idle also stabilizes and returns a smooth idle. So a fueling problem is what we have here one of the above. Enjoy and if you need help determining which one just ask me I will help you figure it out. Please rate my advise thanks it is how i receive my achievements.

SOURCE: 1999 Gmc Sierra has no power

Sounds like the fuel supply is inadequate. Check for a plugged fuel filter, or possibly the fuel pump is losing pressure. I had a 93 Chevy V6 that acted the same way, and after checking everything else I replaced the fuel pump, which solved the problem.

What year is my Yamaha Kodiak 400?

If the 10th digit is an X the year of Manufacture is 1999. *Note* This is the date for when the Kodiak was Built NOT the year it was first registered for use.
VIN numbers are basically the same system. Check this website which might help explain the letters and numbers.

Kodiak 450 when I turn key on it blow the signal fuse every time ? Where do I start to correct the problem?

What is a signal fuse? Blinker ? If so, then blinker switch is faulty or wiring going to blinker switch is shorted somewhere.

My 05 chevy express 2500 keeps coming up with p0758 and p0753

Try resetting the computer. Take negative battery cable off for a few minutes then replace it. Hope that fixes your problem.
