SOURCE: 2003 yamaha 4 stroke will not rev when put in

there are two sets of cables coming from your control box. Onne of the cables switches you from foward/neutral/reverse, and the other cable is for the throttle. either you've have some linkage come loose on your throttle cable, of the cable has broken inside the plastic tube it's housed in.

SOURCE: Hello,

Possible a pinched line...also run with cowling off to try to get it to stop. If it fixes it then you have an exhaust leak under the cowling that is choking it out.

SOURCE: yamaha outboard 150 4 stroke bad vibration at 700

is you propeller bent? a dent the size of a quarter will cause a shake. If not that means your engine is misfiring. here are the troubleshooting test and tool list you need to find out. Tools(1) A compression gauge (2) a spark gap tester.(3) A Clymer service manual for your engine. (you can purchase from your local outboard dealer. I know all these are expensive but if your going to be a outboard tech you will always need them. Troubleshooting (1) check compression. without the year model I'm giving you a average numbers. Look at your Clymer manual. all cylinders need to be over 100 lbs and equal each other within 5 lbs.(2) check spark. use a spark gap tester all cylinders should jump a half inch gap. if you have good compression and good spark, fuel is the problem nine times out of ten.Ethanol gas is proven to stay stable in fuel systems for 30 days in 90 + degree heat. Drain gas tank, clean fuel lines replace primer bulb and replace all fuel filters. Yamaha has a gravity filter under engine coul clean it. Finally replace spark plugs, I know spark plugs probably don't look bad but this is a outboard. Fresh spark plugs means less resistance for the ignition system. The ignition system is week compared to automotive. Test drive boat, if the problem is still there then there is further steps to take. Again I don't know the year model so I guessing its fuel injected. Pull out your clymer manual. what is great about the Clymer Manual for Novice techs is it gives detailed info on your outboard. Troubleshooting tips and teaches you how your outboard works.

SOURCE: hard starting outboard

Remove the starter and have it tested at a marine dealer or autoparts store. If it is dragging and taking too much voltage it will not start.Dragging starter also will keep the engine from spinning the speed needed to start.

How can i get more cfm out of a saylor beall 703 pump. The 705 look exactly the same to me but put out 3 times the cfm. I am guessing it is the same pump just bored out or maybe stroked with a bigger motor...

The 703 has bore sizes of 3 1/2 and 1 7/8 inch with a 3 1/2 inch stroke, the 705 has bore sizes of 4 1/2 and 2 1/8 inch and stroke of 3 1/2 inches. I am also sending you a link to the cut sheets for each pump. How they determine that a 705 is used for 3 H.P. is to turn the pump at 540 rpm and at 5 H.P. it is turning at 845 rpm. this all depends on motor rpm and motor pulley diameter to get the correct ratio of rpm and horse power at the pump.

I have a 50hp 2007 yamaha 2 stroke

Did you change your fuel? If you are trying to use the same fuel from last year without being stabilized then that would cause your problem. I know that you already had your carbs cleaned but it sounds like something els got plugged up in them. If you have fresh fuel then I would take the carbs back apart and check your jets in the carb to ensure that there is nothing obstructing any of the orifaces in the jets. I am a boat mechanic and I have had to take carbs apart 2-3 times sometimes if they were varnished really bad to make sure I got all of the gunk out.

On acceleration under load boosts then cuts out then back in two or three times between 2500 rpm and 4000 rpm boosts cleanly above this

Does it do it while cold? I mean, the first 2 to 5 minutes of running your car after it sitting for a day? If it only does it while warmed up, i am having the same issue.
