Fuel light stays on 02 gsxr 1000

The issue is my friends 2006 GSXR1K will not fire and looking for some things to try. ... The bike has 6K miles on it and up to now no issues.

If it runs, or at least wants to run when using the starter fluid, then I would think that it is a fuel delivery problem. This could be a carb problem (blocked jets, incorrect settings etc.) or that the fuel is not getting to the carb (blocked filter, line, faulty fuel tap). Make sure plugs, air filter, fuel filter and fuel itself are all as they should be as often it is the little things that are the main cause of problems.

Not likely. Review your DIY. Most likely you have a wire wrong somewhere.

if its injected u may have a stuck injecter if so take it out use a 12 volt battery and pulse the injector in a cleaner or high octane fuel. 108 oct or up

cud use a solvent like acetone or paint remover--but 1st try a carb cleaner thats used when they are disasembled-ask ur local parts place--

check the fuse frist but it sounds like the fuel pump. i had a 99 gsxr 1000 that did that and it was the fuel pump

check if there is power coming from the magneto and make sure all connections are connected
