How do I adjust the front brakes on my 2007 stratoliner

Posted by Anonymous on

  • Wayne Stordahl Sep 07, 2013

HI. The brakes are self adjusting hydralic. If you have one stuck or draging you may need to change it out. Check the wear on the pads make sure that they are even. Sometimes one will be worn out and the other will look ok.

Have 2007 Stratoliner just developed a squeaking noise at idol. Sounds like it is coming from transfer case or front cylinder. what could be a probable cause?

Hi, Anonymous I would love to help you with your engine or chassis noise but I just loaned my brand new pair of listening ears to your local dealer's chief technician so he could take your bike for a test ride and give you his professional opinion and estimate about your noise and repair cost. If you are a little short on "DRACHMA" and a Dealership is not on your list of fun places to visit then perhaps the list below will help soothe your worried mind so you can make an informed decision.

2007 Yamaha Stratoliner 12.5k miles. Downshifting from 2nd to 1st shift lever does not always catch first gear. Problem is intermittent.

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Clutch dragging slightly.
2. Primary chaincase overfilled with lubricant.
3. Corners wore off shifter clutch dogs.
4. Shifter return spring bent or broken.
5. Bent shifter rod.
6. A loose shift lever on shifter shaft.
7. Shifter forks sprung.
8. Shifter pawl needs adjusting.
9. Heel/toe shifter coming in contact with the floorboard.
10. Transmission oil too heavy.

Adjusting 2007 aveo rear brakes

do not attempt any adjustments. replace the front brakes when they need it. if you try to adjust the proportioning valve you will lock up your back brakes and risk loosing control of your vehicle. you risk ruining the ABS system in your car which will cost you far far more to replace than a cheap set of brake pads. the front brakes do most of the stoping, that is why they wear out much faster than the back brakes. it is VERY IMPORTANT that you DO NOT attempt to adjust your brake proportioning valve.
