That is normal, most motorcycles run different size front and rear tyres. My BMW has a 21" in the front and a 17" in the rear. The tyre you buy should match your riding style. Don't get a race tyre if all you do is communting, the tyre will wear out too quickly. Expect to pay $150 or so for a rear tyre, perhaps a little less for the front. Mounting & balancing is normally $20-$50 per tyre. Many shops will not mount a tyre you bought somewhere else, keep that in mind if you order tyres from the internet.

Hi Helen,

This is standard (16 inch front and 17 inch rear) on the CBR 900 Fireblade models of those days. Unfortunately it costs more to change tyre's cause u cant get the special combo deals that some suppliers have going.

A tip if u do change tyres please stay with the manufactures profiles that u have, namely 70 in front and 55 at rear. Messing with these profiles is really gonna effect the handling of your bike badly when it comes to cornering. be very careful with the front wheel profile in particular, i tried a 60 front profile fitted and almost crashed out at a track day.

The bridgestone bt57 medium compound tyres i have found to be the best when it comes to handling..I swear by them.

My 2005 Buick LeSabre custom front wheels will not turn left what causes that

Are these standard rims and tyres or are they something that you bought to change the look of your vehicle?
On standard rims and tyres the steering and scrubbing problems could be a suspension or steering rack issue.
Non-Standard Rims and tyres mean it could simply be that you have fitted the wrong wheel setup for your vehicle. You cannot put a random set of wheels on your vehicle. There are several things you need to check first to stop causing loads of problems. Things like brake calliper and rotor clearance, Rim Offset, rim width and actual tyre size.

I love this bike that I bought a few months ago. What have other owners found to be the best tyres for this scooter/bike? The best size and compound to replace my old Bridgestones : Front 120/70 R14 Rear...

OOHHH,, Ric star..
I am sooo jealous...
Check out these.. An "R" (race) compound tire is what you are looking for.. they will wear faster..but ..they will "keep the rubber side down".. and you safe.. Here is a selection. (I prefer Pirelli or Michelin)... and only use matched sets!

I have a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis with alignment problems causing tire wear. I had it realigned in the fall last year 2011 and months ago it's been steering to the left again... Just had it real

In the UK we would say 'have the car tracked' .. the wheel alignment checked and adjusted, which is a relatively straightforward and easy job.

However, be aware that there are other causes of tyre wear which isn't rectified by having the wheels aligned.

A bent or damaged steering arm can cause tyre wear. I once owned an old Mercedes that quickly wore one front tyre. Despite having the wheels tracked - aligned - three times, the tyre still wore. It wasn't until I looked under the car myself and found a damaged steering arm ...

A worn ball joint or worn/soft rubber bush can cause tyre wear. Having the wheels aligned cures nothing without first identifying the fault. I own a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee which, I am aware, has worn rubber bushes in the front steering/suspension set up. The front tyres wear badly, caused by the worn bushes. The tyres need replacing soon anyway, but I'll wait to get the tracking-alignment- done until after I've replaced the rubber bushes/tyres.

You've had wheel alignment done a couple of times and the problem of worn tyres is still there. It's not the wheel alignment at fault .. there's some other reason such as worn ball joint/rubber bushes or maybe impact damage to a steering arm.

The best option is to get a workshop to put the car up on a hoist for inspection. Tell them that wheel alignment ISN'T the cause of your uneven tyre wear. Any half-decent workshop should be able to find the cause within a few minutes.

A car which has suffered severe side impact - and has been repaired - can have a twisted/misaligned body. This too can cause uneven tyre wear

I had not used my printer for about 5-6 months. A few days ago I bought new cartridges, but the result is unacceptable. Print jobs are pale and as if the mat, the color looks very pale - about 30 - 50%...

Check your settings on the printer. Is it in "Draft Mode"? If that's not the solution check through the settings of the printer, look for a "Printer head clean" Or "Clean printer head" Something along those lines.

Shaking when driving. bought new tires in front 18 months ago. bought the car 3 years ago it was already lowered bought back tires six months ago had alighned two months ago started shaking after and tires...

get under the vehicle (use ramps) and check all linkages for movement pull push on the anti roll bar links, pull push on steering rack and pinion and linkages, any excessive movement, jack each wheel at a time, using a bar check the lower wishbone joints for movement, get the bar in the gap between the wishbone and lower part of the shock. and pull down, if any movement in ball joint up and down replace. while wheel on vehicle check for movement in bearing you will feel a tiny amount not much but pull and push on wheel with opposite hands on 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock and do the same at 9 and 3. now with both wheels off the ground but with the tyres still on, have some one holed one wheel and push pull on wheels each side there should be even movement between both wheels, if everything is fine with the the steering linkages and this dose not feel or sound right then this could be the problem also to add if the inside and out side of the tyres are wearing then the tyre pressure is wrong and needs adjusting to the right tyre pressure .

Every now and then I have water running in the

This is normal. It will go into a defrost mode every so many hours depending on the size of your unit. The water is the defrost draining down the drain tube to underneath your fridge. There is a drain pan underneath that catches the water. On some units you might hear the refrigerant converting from gas to liquid and hear a gurgling sound also. This is also normal.
