Replacement of a stock fuel gauge on a '06 Harley Street Bob.

I am trying to replace the factory fuel gauge on my '06 Harley Street Bob because it is scratched. I purchased a new factory fuel gauge but I do not know the steps to replace it. It looks like I may have to remove the tank, is this necessary? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No need to remove tank, Remove terminal pins from connector under left side of tank then pull gauge and wires out. Install new gauge, replace terminal pins in their propper place in the connector, plug it in and varify the repair.
