Pump doesn't prime sometimes I don't hear the sound
SOURCE: Electronic Fuel Pump
It turned out that the ignition key was faulty and it cut out my fuel pump and power to my spark plug but all other electrics worked. Tried my spare key and could hear fuel pump working pressed starter and it fired up how bizarre is that. so problem sorted.

Hi!
You are asking a sensible question and obviously are concerned and rightly so for your safety and others plus tyre wea.
Good on you!
However it depends on load, circumstances, conditions and the type of tyres/compound you have.
So as a rule of thumb, 28/30 front normal conditions rider only short journeys, 30/32 rear normal 2 riders +- 2psi for loads and long runs.
Hope this helps, press the Blue button please to rate my FREE! efforts, Thank You!

Assuming you are using two stroke engine oil, the pump is pumping too much into the gas. DO NOT use motor oil in the gas. If 2 stroke oil is being used, then get a new pump, fix the one you have or disconnect the pump and mix the oil with gas when you fill up. Four ounces of 2 stroke oil per gallon of gas equals the standard 32/1 fuel mix.

Most pumps like this work on pressure drop. When the floats open the pump loses resistance pressure and resumes pumping until it feels pressure again.
