Put bike away for winter added stabilizer ran it for awile then it sat for 4 months. tried getting it going today but would not run very good so i drained gas out of tank and carbs put new gas in and it started fine but after it got warm and i took choke off it would not idle but if i leave choke on half way it runs fine .any info would be great thanks
I have a supermagna and used fuel stablizer once and it wasnt fit it gummed my carbs up,ive cleaned mine often and it isnt rocket science, remove the tank airbox assembly, loosen up the boot flanges that hook the carbs to the motor(ones on carb)then remove the carbs, then the cables, choke and throttle,do not remove carbs from assembly(leave all 4 together)remove the bottoms and tops of a carb, removefloat and jet, then remove all the brass jets and clean them so you can see through holes,,blow out all the holes in carbs, and reasemble, works for me every time, about two hours to do,good luck
Hi
I recon you should check the carb at the bottom. It has a float there and my DT 175 did exactly the same. The float should not stop the needle/pin to come out. Generally i just made sure the float works properly and that all needles and things move properly on the carb. I took a compressor and used feul to spray the diassembled carb clean from all corners. After that a 17 year old 2 stroke kick started 1st time. Hope you come right.
Hello
despite your efforts i do believe the pilot jets have got some builup on them, or they are plugged up. it is incredibley common for this to happen after a storage period. this will need to have the carbs taken off and the pilot jets cleaned well. at this point if the fuel stabilizer couldnt help them i dont believe a fuel added cleaner will help as much.
