You don't have neough battery power to start - the noise you hear is the starter motor turning, but not engaging the starter ring.
Either charge the battery for longer or replace the battery.

320D E46 BMW 2000 engine won't start. Batery indicator is OK, central lock is working.

If your battery is good and all of your other electrical systems work fine then chances are it is your starter that is bad. However if the engine turns over but just won't start then you most likely have an electrical problem such as a bad ignition switch or ECM. I hope this helps you out.

Co.zaMy 2006 BMW 320i E90 wont start, it does switch on,lights and windos are also working but it doesn't start. We had to kick start it this morning and it worked, what could be wrong?

Flat battery. Your lights and other accessories draw alot less power than starter needs. Have your battery load tested to verify.

Same exact problem

Okay it could be one of 2 things. A) you are leaving something on in the car such as lights or leaving a door open a little. B) you have a bad alternator. To check it once you have a complete charged battery, start the car. Let it run fora few mins. while the car is running disconnect the battery. (this is completely safe) If the car turns off you have a bad alternator. Please let me know the outcome.

Battery replaced, car won't start

The batery is probably dead. The lights don't take much power but windows and such do. Try jump starting the car. If tha works you may have altenator problems
