Cbr 125 choke problem

My son bought a used 2004 plate cbr 125 a couple of weeks ago. When he got it the choke cable had broken but the bike started okay and ran fine. He has had the cable replaced, but now the bike cuts out after about 5 mins riding. If left to stand for a short while (5-10 minutes) it will start up again and run for a while before cutting out. If the bike is started without choke, ie.at a warmer time of the day this problem does not seem to occur. Help on where to start looking to sort this problem out would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like the choke line may not have been routed correctly when the new one was installed. Remove the gas tank and check to see that the line is not being stretched anywhere along the way AND that the gas tank when re-installed is not stretching the line. The line may have been kinked when installed. Look at the mechanical movement of the choke at the carb. Does it operate freely? Remove the air filter and look inside the center of the carb, (you may need to use a small mirror for this), does it look like the choke is opening and closing properly when the choke is moved on and off?

My honda cbr 125 wont start. Battery okay

i think youneed to start the bike with a fully charged battery and the choke open with no throttle and keep turning it over till it stars failing that check the fuel hoses and vacum hoses to the carb

I cant get my bike (cbr 125 r) to start without usinf choke!

sounds like you have a blocked jet in your carb you need to get it cleaned and a new spark plug would help.

Choke cable, missing parts?

its common on that bike that when the choke cable breaks the owners are to cheap to replace the cable and operate it right off the carbs

Choke not working

as i remember yhe choke is not adjustable
this is asimple carb and may just benefit a simple strip and clean. The carb flooding may just be down to the float jet not seating properly due to dirt on the seat
hope this helps
