I have a 94 Toyota Corolla and my speedometer will continuously jump from the speed I'm going to zero. In the case that my speedometer jumps down to zero, my car will have a hard time picking up speed as if my car is in neutral. I've had a tune up, speed sensor and instrument panel cluster changed. After my instrument panel cluster was changed, my car worked fine; no problem with picking up speed nor speedometer jumping up and down. 3 weeks later it started back doing the same thing. I'm really down to my wits end and don't know what else to do. Someone please help!!!

Your speed sensor is on the transmission on the drivers side mid way down the transmission dont think they run that much and are easy to replace. Should be a hard plastic coated thick wire.

is there a speedometre cable on that model if there is check at gearbox make sure connected right

it sounds like you have either a broken speedometer cable or a bad speedometer. the best way to find out is by pulling out the cble and spinning it by hand. sometimes the cable is broken and intermitantly catching...
SOURCE: ! change a old speed
it is done completly by electric connection..? on a 92 pick up i belive it still has a speedo cable located at the tail of the tranny.. either the gear is bad or the cable is broken ..if it has cruize control there are two cables one tranny to cruize box and then cruize box to speedo
