I would think that the cpu has sensed a low oil level/ pressure problem and has shut down the engine to protect it from serious damage. Have the problem checked at a dealer/ mechanic and reset it nothing wrong.
It sounds like a vac problem with the engine or the brake booster. The brakes should be vac assist and that vacuum comes from the engine. If it were something with the ABS system you should have a warning light on the dash. Nothing in the transmission would affect the brakes.

ANOTHER THING CHECK TO MAKE YOUR COOLANT IS NOT LOW.LOW COOLANT CAUSES ENGINE GET TOO HOT SHUT OFF.CHECK PVC VALVE AND EGR VALVE MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT STUCK OPEN OR DISCONNECTED.AND MAKE SURE IDLE SPEED IS NOT TOO LOW YOU IDLE SPEED IS ON THE FACTORY STICKER UNDER THE HOOD.
I'm no bona-fide mechanic, but I've done a lot of work on cars. It may be you have an engine seriously out of timing. Or you might have loose or worn engine or transmission mounts. If the engine was shaking badly before shutting down, one result of that may be in the fuel system. If your car has a carbeurator, the shaking may have wreaked havoc on your float. If you have fuel injection, I'm not sure what to think.
