Where is my low fuel gauge on a vs1400 intruder

One the left-hand side of the bike (facing forward), there is cover plate just ahead of the drive shaft. Remove that cover (mine has 8mm bolts). The bleeder valve is under this cover. Go to an auto parts store and get a "one man bleeder kit" or if you have some plastic tubing that will fit over the valve, you can use that and a clean jar. Follow the instructions on the bleeder kit, or if you're using the jar and tubing, fill the jar about a quarter of the way with break fluid (use DOT4, but never DOT5!). Take the cover off the master cylinder up at the handlebars, place the tube over the end of the bleed valve (after loosening it a turn or two. Place the other end of the tube down in the break fluid in the jar. Work the clutch lever until you stop getting bubbles in the jar. Be sure to keep the fluid level up in the reservoir. Tighten the bleeder valve, remove the tubing, top off the fluid and replace the covers.

Be careful not to get brake fluid on anything. It will eat paint and mess up other things.

Hi there, these bikes usually have a reserve of 5 litres, but its not printed in the book. the best way is to allow the bike to run low and carry a gerry can with about 4 or 5 litres and run the tank out.
Before you do this fill the tank to the top mark and reset your trip meter, use the bike as you would then follow the step above, i've had over 30 bikes in my life time and i found that the specification books are only a guide and seldom are accurate, this is the best way to find out and then you will know exactly what your bike will do before you find out the hard way and end up pushing it to a servo .

I did not see for one with a 4 speed. I did not know they made a 4 speed intruder. But the will give you some of the specs like power ratings ect. There is another site called specs.com that should be adding motorcycle specs. anyways here is the link.

SOURCE: change fuel filter on 2002 suzuki intruder volucia 800 vl

i have a 2002 volusia intruder 800cc and the bike was runnning fine. i change the oil/oil filter/removed the radiator hose and drain the radiator/ replace spark plugs and when it was time to start the bike it started and then stalled out/ can't keep the bike running. check the fuel filter and it appears to be o.k. don't know whether or not i should change the fuel pump???

Ya know what I had the same problem and I changed the clutch discs and plates ,problem still persisted.
Replaced the master cyl piston and such ,problem still persists.Took apart the slave cyl and now ordered the kit for that and noticed that the clave cyl had a film of dirt and rubber on the side wall I think that this comes from lack of service mainly changing of fluids.The brakes ,front and back are next for me.
Remember to be patient when bleeding air.Try opening the resivoir cap pull clutch handle ,tie it off and walk away for 2 days .worked for me after a test of my patients for 3 daysm
