How do I replace muffler in 2002 grand prix se?

if the exhaust is all one piece meaning no joints/connections then cut the old muffler out by cutting the pipe in front and behind the muffler leaving enough pipe for the new muffler to slide around the exhaust pipe and then using muffler clamps clamp the pipes in place on the muffler until its tight.

Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic exhaust leak

Start and run the engine and listen and feel around all gasket, connection points etc. and you should hear the leak or feel the leak. Check all nuts and clamps for tightness etc and if it has been leaking for some time there may be visible signs also.

I have a 1997 lexus es 300 i need to replace the power steering hose its leaking under driver side i cant find any videos to help no good info all i keep hearing is take it to a shop some ppl dont gave...

first were is the leak is it at the joint or the hose ? joint you need a new hose and clamping kit. costly. hose split cut out the bad part and fix with a new part of pipe. and copper tubing and pipe clamps.... you can make a clamp if you need to put a new pipe on. you need two bits off metal with a hole in the middle of both of them so it looks like a half moon on each of them that sit the same. put the new pipe on in place put the bits off metal around the new pip on the metal and using 2 jubilees to hold in place then tighten them up tight this will clamp the metal on the pipe. when nice and tight it will be done. the pipe will turn round this is normal. if its a small leak you can use stop leak you put this in the system its thicker power steering fluid don't get the engine one it will not work. has to be for the power steering. just fill the system with this stuff. look on line and you will find the stuff have used this on a few cars as its a cheap fix and lasts for a long time. never had to use it my self but done a lot to other vehicles were they don't have the money to replace pipes. 5 year and still going. well there is all that i can hepl you with hope this helps.

Might be your miracle in a can fix burning causing the smoke. If its coming out of a joint where it clamps, try to tighten the clamp. Sometimes there is also an exhaust gasket where the one pipe slips into the other pipe that could be broke or missing.

Backfiring when throttling back or on over-run downhill

hi,this is quite common on big v-twins,it is normally caused by a leak in the exhaust system(gaskets or clamps)this allows air to enter the exhaust system which then leans out the mixture inside the pipe, when the next hot exhaust pulse arrives from the cylinder, the lean mixture inside the pipe is ignited causing a backfire, check all the exhaust joints and the manifolds, where the pipe exits the cylinder, and make sure they are all tight and leak free, your problem should then go away, but in saying that, you will always get some exhaust popping on most v-twins,hope this helps

What repair is needed to stop exhaust manifold leak and what do i need to do the at home repair

It depends on the leak. First of all - see if you can see any cracks on the manifold - telltale signs would be a visible crack and black residue around it from exhaust. If you see that the manifold should be replaced. - welding would be a possible alternative. If there are no cracks - check all the nuts and studs to make sure they are tight. Make sure the exhaust pipe is tight and not leaking at the connection. If everything looks tight and secure - change the exhaust manifold gasket. All of that could be done at home depending on your comfort leel with the tools and time available.

Exhaust leak

it can leaking at a number of places
it could be the exhaust manifold itself or the flange where the manifold and exhaust pipe meet or at any of the joints on the exhaust pipes. or it could even be in the actul pipe itself. if you are on a tight budget you could go and ask a shop for an estimate on what it would cost to have the leak repaired.as many shops offer free estimates. sometimes the franchise shops will even fix it for free if it is a real quick fix. my wife had a flange put in for free at a shop because it only took the guy 10 min. to do it.
