SOURCE: 07 yamaha 1100 v star

the mustang seats, do they have different mounting points, is that why they do not fit? If the seat fits on the bike, then mabey you can adjust the mounting points by making up some brackects to bolt to.

SOURCE: can i lower the seat height of my 2006 roadliner?

best way is to take your cover off your seat and shave it down about 2-3 inches...then put some memory foam in it and recover...its more comfortable and it will lower your seat height.

How do I change the battery in a 2006 Roadliner

First find out where it is located. Then remove the necessary parts to get at it. Seat, plastic panels etc. Unfasten the bolt for the battery box, then unscrew the battery terminals and remove the batt.

I explained here in detail... but that was hard, as this is literally the simplest thing to do on any motorcycle.

Where do i check oil level on a 06 yamaha stratoliner 1900

The dipstick on all the Yamaha XV1900 models is under the drivers seat. To check the level, be sure the bike is in an upright position (off the sidestand) then remove dipstick, wipe, and reinsert WITHOUT screwing it in. Just dip it. Oil level should be between the upper and lower marks. Yamaha offers free .pdf owners manuals if you don't have one to access here: https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/motorsports/owners-manuals

Below the tank there should be about 4 bolts holding the tank to the frame, loosen then and lift the tank enough from seat side, you should be able to access the wiring and plugs.

Where is the air filter and how do I access it for service ?

The air intake (and therfore, air filter element) on a Yamaha roadliner is under the fuel tank. However, to get to the airbox you do not need to completely remove the tank:

Empty the tank, set a table or bench next to the seat to put the tank on when it is removed from the bike.
Remove the seat,
Remove the two bolts at the rear of the tank,
Remove the three screws from the chrome dash, disconnect the cables at the front of the dash.
Remove the two bolts in the front of the tank,
Lift the tank. there is enough length and flex in the fuel lines that you do not have to disconnect them. Just lay the tank on the table.
