Yes you may need to remove the fairings on the front side of bike to access the top of engine where spark plugs are located.

Bill,
What you are describing sounds like an ignition coil breaking down as soon as it come up to temperature. It could also be as simple as a spark plug and most probably is. I tend to disagree with the suggestion you received about the contact points (if your motorcycle actually has them). Generally points will make a mess out of starting and if they are failing wouldn't wait 20 minutes to let you know. I'm going to say spark plug(s) (change 'em both) then possibly a coil OR the high tension lead is shorting against the block or some part of the frame. Now I can't say names or someone will get upset but a German made motorcycle doesn't generally work to well with spark plugs made in America. Been in the Recreational business for a lot of years and if there is one spark plug that just works it's found in every Honda MC and of course is made in Japan. Hope you picked up on were i was trying to lead you ;-). Cheers have a great day, hum you riding your motorcycle and I'm up to my bum in snow and getting another foot of the stuff :-(

2011 v star 650 stopped running mid ride

check fuel flow, possibly you got some dirt in the carb/injection that is stopping fuel flow. also check spark plugs see if they give a spark. best.

07 blade cut out on road after refuelling

Check that fuel is getting to the cylinders by removing a spark plug after turning it over. If the plug is wet then fuel is getting through. if not check the Fuel tap is turned on and that the fuel filter isn't blocked

My bmw f650 just cut and i cant seem to find the problem.my mechanic checked the plus, fuses and only managed to get it crunking but wont start.what could be causing this?and some times the fuses get burnt.

Pull one of the spark plugs and hold it against the engine with a non-conductive tool and have someone crank the engine. Is there spark? No spark indicates a possible timing problem. If you have spark squirt some fuel down each cylinder, put the plugs back in and crank the engine. If it barks you have a fuel delivery problem and that on a BMW means bad fuel pump or plugged injectors. There really isn't anything else on the bike. You don't say which fuses burn out,but let me know if its the fuel pump because that would make all kinds a sense.Good luck and hopefully good riding

F1 light comes on bike cuts off of my 2008 gsx . i change oil -gas- and bought it to the shop and the same problem. when i turn the bike on i runs for a little while then turns off

F-I is fuel injection system telling you to clean air-filter,fuel-filter and clean the fuel injector system. This is a good start.

I was riding and everything was working normal. then i lost about half my power and it sounded rough. the power would come back only momentarily but would disappear again. it was jerking when that...

You bike is missing on one cylinder. Since it comes and goes, it could be a spark plug or plug lead. This is the easiest solution, but there could also be a problem with the fuel injection system. Fit new plugs and test the plug leads. If the problem still exists, have the fuel injection system checked out.
