SOURCE: the rear brake light does

yes, there is a common connection. Find the rear master cylinder and the brake line that comes out of it running towards the rear of the bike. Along this line, you'll find a pressure switch. This is the rear brake light switch. It has two blades on it that usually have two wires one each connector. One of the connectors is supposed to be "hot" when the ignition is turned on. This supplies the power for both the front and rear lights. Jumpering across the two terminals at that switch should turn the brake light on. Test it with a test light.

SOURCE: where is the location of

This is a generic offering for your question on a very specific make and model of Harley Davidson motorcycle.

I don't know EXACTLY on this model. ... it will be a mechanical switch attached to some part of the mechanical linkage - probably by a spring to allow for shoe wear, or if hydraulic, follow the line from the master to the slave. You are going to have to get down on the ground and look at all the linkage and line. Your switch may be covered by a panel of some type.

Let me know what you find ... thanks for your question @ FixYa.com

On the back underneath the seat, it should switch on when your headlamp comes on

Rear foot break switch

Late model Harley's have been having a problem with the rear brake light switch.
Replace.

A quick test is to unplug the two wires from the brake light switch, and jump them together with ignition on and see if the brake light illuminates.

Tail light and foot pedal brake light does not work but hand lever brake light works.

Probably a bulb/ rear brake switch combination. If your front brake switch is working, then half of the bulb is working. No taillight issue, probably a bulb. No rear brake light, probably the rear brake switch. Located on the lower right rear of the frame, behind the exhaust. Check for power on the orange/white wire at switch. If you have that then check for power on the other terminal of the switch while pushing on the pedal. The rear brake switch is hydraulically operated so you must have adequate pressure to activate it.

I have a 200 heritage softail classic the brake light stays on and i dissconnected the pressure switgh for the foot brake and the light stays on. So I guess it's the hand brake switch that is shot. If...

If you disconnected the pressure switch for the rear brake and the light is still on, your deduction of a bad front brake light switch is right on. There is nothing else on the bike that would make the rear brake light come on. If you've moved handlebar switch housing or the master cylinder, make sure that they are positioned snugl against each other. Additonally, I've been reading where wear in the lever and pivot pin combine to make the switch not work. Replacing the lever and pivot pin may resolve the problem. To test, move the front master cylinder away from the switch housing and manually operate the switch to see if the switch is or is not working correctly.

92 SOFTAIL/ NO RH INDICATORS/BRAKE LIGHT THRU FRONT BRAKE LEVER

I'm not sure if I understand exactly what your problem is. The right hand indicators have nothing to do with the brake lever. The brake light may not be working when you pull the front brake lever due to a bad front break light switch that is located in the right handlebar switch housing. I can send you a schematic if you'll contact me directly at [email protected] Remind me of what you need.

Brake lights wont work with hand or foot pedal. Tail lights work fine

most likely the filament blew, change the bulb, there are two filaments in the bulb, one for tail light and one for brake.

95 road king brake light does not work taillight works changed

I take it it does not work foot or hand control. look for your brake light switch right side of frame rail usually a goldish color or silver color. it has two plug in connectors. Unplug and put a test light to them. apply either brake. If the light comes on then you have a bad brake switch. replace it. if you have foot brake and no hand brake light then it would most likely be the brake nipple in the hand switch. but you did not say so I assume no brakes foot or hand.
