Problem with starter switch some times it operates and other time

Have checked the starter soliniod alls ok there. The times that it does work the neutral light is on but the bike is in gear and it will start. I'm informed that maybe there needs to be some neutral light adjustment. How is this done?

Sounds like your neutral light switch is faulty as there is no adjustment on these as i am aware
try a new one or link the old one out just to confirm the neutral light will be on all the time though

2005 starter wiring diagrams from ignition switch to starter soliniod

The ignition switch does not go to the starter solenoid . Pin 87 at the starter relay sends B+ voltage to the starter relay . Do you know what a starter relay is an how it works ? The ignition switch is an input to the PCM - engine computer . When the PCM sees this B+ voltage from the switch it energizes the starter relay sending B+ voltage to the starter solenoid . http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html free wiring diagrams !

I have to turn my key three times before he starter kicks in. Any ideas why?

Could have a faulty switch, bad connection at starter wire or a faulty soliniod on the starter.

1995 nissan maxima doesnt start when cold, just clicks, and after trying for 5 to 10 minutes it finally starts... Please help me out...

it is one of two things.
  • the starter is either worn and brushes not making contact or an engine oil leak onto the starter. thus keeping the brushes from making contact you can check this by banging on the starter while someone trys turning the ignition back and forth to start.(making the click click click)

  • ignition switch is weak, not providing enough voltage from the to kick the soliniod all the way to start the starter

The way to check that is to hot wire the starter soliniod little wire, to battery voltage. (the big cable on the solinoid)
If it turns over good, then you can either replace the ignition switch or install a relay someware near the starter to supply it with propper current to kick the solinoid all the way to engage the motor.
The relay acts as a remote starter switch that feeds more direct power to the starter solinoid. Now the only thing the ignition switch is responsible for, is trigger the relay.

Gear selector will not go into park, also abs light comes on after 5 mins of runnning, and check engine light comes on at the same time. but the engine is running fine and all fluids are topped up. i think...

check all fuses first, make sure brake lights are working.the soliniod that operates shift lock sounds like its not working, sometimes its the fuse or brakelamp switch. hope this helps.

Car randomly does not start, battery tests fine, alternator good

Check operation of auto transmission neutral switch; if that is not faulty check 'Start' output from Ignition sw (or start slave relay) is OK;
If all above OK check for faulty starter motor operation.

John Deere hydro 185 When I try to start

You have a bad disk in the starter solenoid pull the starter and go to a shop and buy a new solenoid or flip the disk in the solenoid and sand the two contacts so that it will make contact.
