I need to know the size of my timing chain on my fzr 1000 so I can order a master link for it.

I am doing a valve job to my fzr 1000 and need to know, 1- how to get master link size for my timing chain, or, should I just replace the whole chain? Is there a measurement I can take to determine whether or not it should be replaced?
