SOURCE: Rpms speed up faster then bike does. Sounds like clutch slip.

You can adjust it by slackening the cable...unless it has hydraulic operation....Otherwise get it replaced before you do more damage..ie clutch dust and debris in the oil, so dont forget the oil and filter change too.

sounds major. Clanking and low on oil sounds like a broken piston ring. Suggest dealer check with compression tester rear cylinder. Replace v star with Harley if necessary.

SOURCE: NEED TO REPLACE REAR TIRE YAMHA VSTAR 650 2000

A service manual is a valuable tool with an aging bike. I suggest the dealer/mfr. or Clymer books. In the meantime, go to the library reference section...646 stacks should have what you need.

Sounds like the belt is loose. Try tightening it up. It should only have a half inch play in it. So from wher the belt is it should only push down or up 1/2 in. If it is tight then jack the back wheel off of ground and start it put in gear and idle it spray belt dressing on it. that should eat all of the dryrotted belt off.

My Samsung front loader dryer squeaks when running

Most common for 1990 to current Samsung dryers is the belt tensioner pully squeaking. if you do the following when you first hear the squeak you may save having to replace the part for many years.

Noisy belt tensioner pully - squeaking - fixed by placing just the very tip of the tensioner pully shaft (above the pully axle surface and above the retaining clip) in a vice and forcing the "post" (the pully axle) to rotate 180 degrees by rotating the tensioner bracket. This can be done since the post is only swaged to the tensioner bracket . Then reassemble. Since pressure on the pully axle is always in the same direction only one side of the pully axle gets worn out. Rotating the axle 180 degrees puts an unused part of the axle where the worn out (scarred) surface of the axle was located. Best fix is not needing new parts! Good luck all!

You can find dis-assembly videos online. First to go is usually the belt tensioner pully, but others may also fail so YMMV.

Squeaking tires

This is a problem that can be annoying but there is no simple fix. There are several things you can try.

If the tires are new, clean them and scrub them up with an abrasive cleaning pad. The green 3M scotchbrite pads work well.
I have sprayed Pam or any available spray cooking oil to the tires to quiet them. The main disadvantage to this is that the wheelchair may become uncontrollable and slippery at higher speeds on the floor surface. Exercise caution and test this first. If there is a control problem, use a cleaning agent to remove the tire lubricant. There are commercial car compounds to spray on drive belts to keep them from squealing and slipping which may work.
Try cleaning the floors to a dull finish or try a different floor finish. Trial and error may be the best solution. Hope this helps.

Squeaking noise from tread

usually when a treadmill begins to make a squeaking sound it means that the belt needs to be lubricated. Try Treadmill Belt Lubricant available at Canadian Tire for $10.99 and is good for Reebok treadmills.

Squeak in low gear.

Try spraying the belt with a "dressing" spray. With the engine not running of course. If it stops, then your belts may need adjustment or replacement.

Squeak from the back end.

but hoping I could get a little help.I get a very loud squeak from what seems to be the back end of the bike under power. I don't notice it in first gear but 2nd and up I hear the squeak that is very loud. It is not a constant squeak but a jumpy one that seems to match the engine vibrations (as in it seems to squeak every time a cylinder fires) but only under power.I just put on new rubber on the back end last night and I left every guard off and it didn't change assuming that I have guards rubbing and squeaking but apparently not the case. Now what I find to be very interesting is that it is not always there. Case in point: Almost a month ago, I got caught in a pretty good rain storm. It didn't squeak again until I washed it. After I washed the bike, it never really went away until I ride for a while. Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that the squeaking never really stays for a whole ride, just the start of it (10-20 minutes?)Is this a symptom of the wheel bearings going or do I have a problem with my belt drive? The bike is a 2003 XB9R and I know that there have been problems with the belt on some (not being strong enough) but from what I can tell, the belt looks imaculate for being 5 years old.Any ideas before I start throwing money at it until it gets figured out?,1. the belt will not squeak, so it's not that. 2. this is hard to figure out online.3. is it while riding constant or during normal/hard acceleration?,,,
