I have a tomberlin 150 go cart i was riding it one day and it just cut off and now the ignition wont work and i try to start it with the silinoid and it just cranks real fast but no start then you can also smell gas

if truck has a ceramic ballist resistor near and connected to coil this could be problem or the crk posistion sensor could be too, i would change ballast first if you have on your truck appx cost $10

I agree that it's probably the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS).  Without the pulse from this sensor, you vehicle will never start.  Sometimes water from a leaking water pump will run down onto this sensor and cause it to fail.  
You can go to MSN Auto for your vehicle and under the "Reliability" tab  you will see the same thing regarding the CPS (listed under Engine issues).
