On the remote there is a tab that releases a key that will open the passenger side door

You need to access the hood release at the release mechanism in the centre of the bonet. With any luck with that model hopfully you can access it with a long screwdriver through the grill or reaching up from under the car behind the bumper.

How do i gain entry into my ford f-150 cab or open the hood with not key entry when battery is dead

You can unlock the door with a slim jim, or coat hangar to gain entry into the cab. Otherwise you will have to remove the phillips screws that hold the grill on, and remove the grill to get to the hood latch.

The new battery maybe defective, the battery holder maybe loose or broken, the rubber between the 2 halves of the remote maybe not inserted properly or has defect, may need re-programming, may have damaged circuit board. battery is affected by the cold and can weaken it. There is possibility of electrical trouble(s) with the car itself, but commonly it is the remote that has the problem(s).

Dead battery, can't open doors

If you have the keyless entry system, you either have a dead battery in the car, or in your key fob. Regardless, you can gain entry to the vehicle using the emergency key concealed inside your fob. Press the narrow button near the metal end of the fob to separate the parts. They metal piece has a key attached that fits into the lock on the driver's door.

1999 porsche 911 how to open hood with dead battery

The cheapest way to get around this and get enough voltage into the system to open the hood is to purchase a cigarette lighter extension (about 3 feet) and cut off the female plug on the end. Strip the 2 wires back a few inches and attach one to the positive and the other to the negative on a set of jumper cables. Attach the other end of the negative jumper to a battery. With the keyless entry in hand, touch the positive cable to the positive terminal on the battery and press the unlock button until you hear the car doors click. Once it clicks, you should be able to use the hood latch to gain access to the battery.
