SOURCE: Engine oil

They take just under 1ltr of oil. you can check the level is correct by running the engine till its warm and pulling out the dipstick located near the head stock on the frame. If the level is low then add more oil, be careful not to overfill as the later model WR's expel excess oil into the air box, this can make a mess of your air filter.

The noise you hear is valve clatter. You should not adjust your timing chain. Instead get a manual and find the vlave clearances for that bike. (Ex. The exaughst valve may be .006" and the intake valve may be .004") Then you'll need a feeler gauge, and to do this you'll remove the valve covers and get the engine to TDC (Top Dead Center) This is where the piston is at the very top of it's stroke and both valves are shut. (compression stroke) You must then loosen the rocker arm nut to the point that you can insert the feeler gauge between the rocker arm and the top of the valve run the nut down tight to the feeler gauge and then pull gauge out and repeat on the other valve.

SOURCE: how do i decode yamaha yz 125 engin id number

You don't decode it. It is only a production run series number. Mororcycles are like cars in that respect. It is the frame number, AKA the "VIN number", is what carries all the information. Call a dealer with the frame number and he can tell you year, paint color, specific model and more. They may have a problem if the bike is too old. Yamaha changed to a newer code system a few years back.

The proper adjustment is achieved when the notch in the actuator lines up with the pin hole in the cylinder casting.

My Yamaha wr 250 starts well but when hot just konks out, the carb has bee cleaned the head skimed, new head gasket ect, could it be the stater plate ? does any one think they might know the answer ? Tony.

my man, tony, dudeski, im a yamaha mechanic in idaho. your problem my friend is a valve adjustment. your valves are loose enough when cold to run with some compression but when warmed up they become to tight...therefore not enough compression to fire. easy fix too.

Slight rattle coming off engine by power valve on low revs

I suspect timing chain. Read the manual for the procedure to adjust it. If you don't have the manual, check out the library. I think you'll find the cycle repair books in 646 stacks.
