More than likely one of the coils died or plug wire insulation is rotten and it's arcing to the frame, be sure to check all wiring connections before you buy anything.

    also make sure the plug wire is securely attached to the plug boot (they thread on and off and tend to get loose after a while)

    *I hope I haven't offended you by assuming you may not already know the above answers, that's not why I posted :)

SOURCE: need help to connect fuel lines 82 suzuki gs 750

the solution is very simple
there are 2 nipples underneath the petrol tank
the upper nippel should be conected to the venturi nipple because this on opens the valve (can try by light sucking on it)
the second ore lower nippel should be conected to the carbs there is a conection in the middle of the four carb's
please be sur you use fresh petrol and clean the carbs (using compressed air)

when you try without cleaning filter it wil run but not wen you open the trottle (it's because of the vacuum carb's they need the veturi that is placed in the air filter compartment)

lots of suc 6

Have 79 gs750E got fire and fuel will not start? Was running than acted like it balged down. Got it back. Now no start

CHECK THE POWER TO THE COIL, AND FROM THE COIL TO THE SPARK PLUG; TAKE ONE OUT LAY IT ON THE BLOCK CONNECTED TO THE WIRE, NOW CRANK THE ENGINE AND LOOK FOR A SPARK. NO SPARK NO POWER. CHANGE THE COIL.

How do i wire the coils on my 78 suzuki gs 750. spark plug order which spark plug wire goes where??

There are 2 coils. The coil on the left provides spark for cylinders 1 & 4. The coil on the right provides spark for cylinders 2 & 3. The firing order is 1-2-4-3.
In case you don't know, this little tidbit is something to carry with you for life: Whenever a reference is made to a place in or on a vehicle, it is ALWAYS the perspective "from-left-to-right" of the seated vehicle operator.
In other words, in your case, as you're sitting on the bike, cylinder #1 is the one furthest to your left, and #4 is furthest to your right.

I think japanese inline fours are the same -

sitting on the bike, from left to right, the cylinders are 1 to 4

one coil fires cyls 1 and 4 and the other fires cyls 2 and 3. you can swap 1 and 4 or 2 and 3, it makes no difference at all, but you can't put the 2-3 coil on cyls 1 or 4 and vice versa... you should be able to put the long spark plug wires on cyls 1 and 4 and the short ones go to cyls 2 and 3.

The fire order on a 82 Suzuki GS750 t

You only have 2 coils on this bike. It uses the wasted spark system. One coil will fire 1&4 the other will fire 2&3. You will see 2 HT cables from each coil. Try the left coil on 1&4 and right coil on 2&3. If it does not start try right coil on 1&4 and left coil on 2&3

1979 suski 750,bike runs on 2 left side cylinders, 2 right side cylinders are not firing, new plugs, plugs seem to be firing, rebuilt carbs adjusted, raw gas com coming from exhaust pipes on right side....

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

With the indulgence of craigjamesbt...

A few additional ideas to consider:
  • it would be an electrical/ignition issue if 1 & 4 or 2 & 3 will not fire but not 3 & 4;
  • almost always, raw fuel on exhaust indicates a flooded engine. A flooded engine would most likely be a carb issue;
  • best way to determine if it is an engine concern is to do a compression test;
  • a way to test the right carb pair is to deliberately starve them of fuel by temporarily plugging/blocking the inlet port/seat with rubber similar in appearance as to those used for glue gun, not installing the needle and float. Assemble the carb and install. Start the bike and use/spray carb cleaner on the right side carb. Note if 3 & 4 will fire even intermittently.
Would appreciate a postback on results/updates on any developments.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
