SOURCE: wat kind of coolant is good for a 04 yz 450

1 litre of oil in engine or 1.1 litre of oil if you change oil filter and you drain the oil underneith the engine there will be a plug this just simply comes out and the oil drains but warm the engine first before you do this and i would recccomend using silkolene pro 4 plus 5w-40 and also use silkolene pro cool its ready mix i can get these oils if you reccomend and i can send them to your location

Did this problem just begin.?
Check for air leaks on intake manifold.
Clean carb.
Check valve clearances
raise the needle jet one notch
one size up in the main jet.

check one item at a time, and write notes about jetting changes.and improvements
I also run Moreys upper cylnder lube, helps starting hot or cold, and helps stop "cough stopping" with heavy rear brake use

SOURCE: Hi I have a problem with the clutch Yamaha yz 450

The problem is likely to be with the lubricant used in the gearbox. I'll bet you have a synthetic oil or an oil with "Special" lubricants in the gearbox. Some of the synthetics can swell the cork on the clutch friction plates and some can shrink the cork. If swollen, the clutch will grab. If shrunk, the clutch slips. Some synthetics work okay. Below is diagram from a factory repair manual. Use a name brand 20w40 motor oil without any special additives. With a little luck the clutch plates will come back to life and another set of friction plates will not be needed. Please rate my answer. tombones49_87.gif

Just need to know where to put oil

Oil filler cap is on the left crankcase cover (engine side cover). This oils both the engine and transmission. Check the oil level on the dipstick located on the upper frame in front of the fuel tank. This should be done after the engine has been run briefly (idle for 1 minute), then kill engine and check.
