Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Initially, have to inform you, have not worked on one. Being in the Philippines most that I have laid my hands on are Japanese with a sprinkling of Italian but don't recall ever working on a French scooter. Sorry.

Still as you posted "Any advice...", allow me to do some guesstimate:

• most scooters would have the battery located low;
• would not be more than 50 cms away from the starter motor/engine;
• being a 125 engine, battery would have to be about 7A/H, a bit heavy, therefore battery holder would not be on any of the plastics, chances are to the frame;
• likely to be under the seat but there would be the helmet compartment, so maybe lower.

• either under the helmet compartment front of the engine (but would have an easy access panel/lid; or
• under the footrest/floorboard.

I have a manual for a 2001 mz charly electric scooter. The scooter folds down and you can carry it. Just checking to see if we are talking about same scooter. The book if have has the circuit diagrams.

haynes are really brief, try speaking to a yamaha dealer, sometimes if you catch the on a good day they can send you a diagram they use, failing that you can purchase a manual on ebay normally, and failing alll that, work back bit for bit on all wiring with an electric meter
