My yamaha r6 wont turn the neutral light on and when i try to start the engine wont start eather
SOURCE: Bike Will not start
Hi millerfam
Sounds a lot like the battery is dead, and or the alternator is not charging. Check all the connections to the battery first for tightness and that there is no corrosion present. Do you have any way of checking the battery with a volt meter. If in decent condition it should read at least 12.5 volts, no less than 12 volts with the lights on. . If in doubt, and it has been sitting in a flat condition for any more than a couple of days, then it will have developed sulphate problems(killer),and will need to be replaced anyways.

could be a safety shutdown by computer, only your dealer can erase the code....and then you'll find out whats wrong...and why the computer doesn't want you starting and damaging the bike.......Good Luck to you friend....Tim

sorry.. i don't know off the top of my head but super simple way to check.. get an electrical tester that pierces the wire and turns on a light.. ($5 at walmart--seriously) turn on left signal, check the wires.. the one that is flashing is your left signal... so on and so forth..
(this tool will be super handy in the future also)

These are known for starter problems... The clicking you hear is the relay but the bendix is locked up put it in about 3rd gear and rock it hard forward and back. Bendix may release. Make sure battery is good. As I said before these bike are well known for their starter problem and even after having it fixed by a dealer problem seems to show back up after a very short time. Good Luck!

broken cable if your style bike has that style system, the cable that attaches to the axle shired off, i"ve had that stripped out also before and had to replace it.
