I own a 2004 yamaha roadstar 1700. 15,000 miles. always ran perfectly. i would say i ride 4 days a week and mostly scenic drives low speeds. last week i took it out and drove it pretty hard. high speeds...

remove the carbs and have them professionally overhauled
indicates a problem in the high speed circuit , probably a blockage
might also be an incorrect float level that is not allowing enough fuel into the bowl for hgfh speed operation

My 1997 ford thunderbird stalls, idles rough, backfires, and has trouble accelerating

it could be as simple as your spark plugs, they may need to be checked for proper gaping and also check to make sure plugs are installed properly, could also be your timing might be off, could also be the throttle position sensor, these could all be effecting the fuel to air ratio, I would start with the easiest problem 1st......hope this was of some use to you.....

My Dyna Lowrider 2005 will not idle after warm up. Runs fine on choke.

The pilot jet in your carb is stopped up causing no idle unless choke is on,clean the carb jets and your problem should go away,a clogged pilot/idle jet will cuase a lean condition, and when you use the choke it will draw just fuel and no air, hope that helps.

Replaced battery, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, added heet water removal and lucas fuel injector. It sputters, backfires/pops when accelerating and it has no power, drives like a golf...

How many miles? I am NOT a mechanic! Sounds like possible timing belt/chain jumped a tooth. Or the timing advance mechanism is malfuctioning. (Unlikely - check distributor is tight or not shifted from normal position too far back or forward.) Assuming belt and not chain, 80 k miles or more, likely need to replace timing belt in any case, before it breaks. If it breaks, you'll be replacing valves and pistons too.

Carburetor backfire 97 dyna lowrider

backfire can be caused by a too lean idle screw adjustment on the carburetor.

99 dyna 88 cubic inch pops and whistles at idle ,engine noise and no fuel milage 40000 miles on engine, engine light stays on

If it'll whistle "Dixie", I'll buy it. (BG) No, if it's popping and whistling, it's probably got a vacuum leak somewhere. If it's a carbed engine, just look for an unplugged VOES vacuum line. It comes right off the backside of the carb. It might be time for a set of intake gaskets as well. If it's fuel injected, I can't help much there as I don't know a lot about those but if it's popping while idling, it's lean whether it's carbed or injected. If it's injected, you'll probably have to take it to a dealer.

Good Luck
