My 2003 Vstar 1100 custom is spewing fuel from a nozzle head located on the lower rear section of the injection body and facing the cooling fins of engine block, which seems to be flooding the engine and preventing it from running. Instead it simply turns over and dies. This issue began as I attempted to start it after setting for 4 days, and I engaged the choke half way after one unsuccessful non-choked ignition attempt. I'm not mechanically inclined when it comes to automotive diagnostics. Please help - Glenn.

It has a sticky float valve in the carb, you could try "tapping" the carb and it may free the float off ,dont goon hitting it to hard just tapping it should free it off.
If it wont free off ,then take apart carb and clean then float valves.------------Fuel spewing out of the nozzle means over flow .The needle and seat in the carburetor are not sealing properly. The needle is either worn or there is some trash keeping them from sealing. You'll have to remove the float bowl and either clean it out or replace the needle. ------------ The float needle is not shutting fuel off within the bowl.It is full of fuel you can lightly tap on the bowl of carb an that may make it stop .What has happend is that the bike sitting for 4 days have blocked the carn bowl, bit low. You may need to run a little fuel treatment through it or sea foam( sea foam is a carb cleaner spark, available at local auto parts store, you can spark the seafown on carb holes and add seafoam to the fuel too) and that may clean the end of the needle off the way it works when the bowl of the carb fills with gas the float raises a needle valve into a brass seat and stops fuel flow into the carb. When the fuel gets old it starts to develop a tarnish on that nice pionty valve and then it won't stop gas overflows.Just prevent to much into the motor try some fuel treatment and run it, it may fix it self .Also get the carb and jets cleaned. By taking carb apart. This will help, to stop such problems in future.--------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

2002 yamaha vstar 1100 where is the fuel pump located?

if the bike is fuel injected- the pump is in the fuel tank.. if the bike has carburetors- there is normally no fuel pump- the fuel gravity feeds from the tank thru the petcock valve into the carbs

When I start my 2003 Vstar 1100 Classic, and as i give it throttle during ideling, it dies out? Also as im driving my bike and i come to a red light and i down shift and the idle lowers, it dies out, but...

There are a few quick things to try before cleaning the carbs.

1.Clean your air filter, it may be choking out, trust me a dirty air filter will choke out a bike.
2.Check your spark plugs. If they are black and sooty, change them out. Its quick and less expensive.

I diagnosed a 2001 Roadking Fuel injected. Ran like ****, hardly any throttle response, died at idle.
the customer said he just had it serviced a month ago at the dealer.
I pulled the plugs and they were nasty. The dealer forgot to change out the sparkplugs. It Happens
I Put in a new set of spark plugs and the bike ran like new.
I've fixed a bunch of bikes in the past and this one always stuck in my mind because of the difference in performance.

Try the sparkplugs, i think its more likely to be that than the air filter.
