Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Listen to hear if you can hear the fuel pump kicking on when you first turn the key. You should hear a humming sound for a second or two. If you do, it is working, If not, it is not working. If so, check your fuel pump fuse, relay, and shut off button if you have one. It could also be bad fuel injectors. You can pour fuel into the intake, if it starts, you have a fuel issue. If it doesn't, it shouldn't be fuel related then. If these all check out, if you don't have inside power, it is a connection problem with the battery or a bad battery. If you have power and there is a clicking sound, clean the battery terminals and post, check the connection. Make sure the battery is good. If you turn the key and there is nothing, you have a bad starter or starter solenoid. Check your ignition fuse also. If the starter is not getting the correct amount of power from the battery, it won't start. Make sure the alternator isn't draining the battery as well.

Car STILL will not crank after replacing fuel pump by reason of deduction and seems to not be getting gas to the engine & motor will turn over just wont start

Yes, if you hear the pump, the relay is ok. The filter should be replaced, or blown out clear, if you suspect it. A plugged filter will certainly keep the car from starting.

I was having trouble starting a 2003 Kia Sorento. With 150000 miles on it I was told to replace the fuel filter. After locating a filter and following what instructions I could obtain, my son and I tackled...

Hello
Based on what you have told me and with my own experiences over the last 30 years with electronic fuel injection no start issues I think you have a defective in tank electric fuel pump. I would also like you to buy a can of starting fluid and spray it into the air intake of the engine to confirm the loss of fuel pressure the next time this no start occurs. You should also have the systems control computer scanned for codes to make sure you don't have other components that are contributing to this problem

Car keeps shutting off while driving. We have changed fuel filter twice worked good for a couple of days and then started again. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Fuel filter is the best place to start but sometimes the fuel pump can cut out intermittently as well and it is also possible that your injectors are gummed up. Perhaps a higher grade of fuel might make a difference or fuel injector cleaner once a month when you fill your tank might help if it is an injector issue.
I am not certain how to tell if the fuel pump is intermittently cutting out other than eliminating other reasonable possibilities. I had that happen to me and like you I changed the fuel filter and ran injector cleaner through my tank and still had the problem. I dropped the tank and replaced the pump and it ran great afterward.

I replaced fuel pump and fuel filter but car still wont start. it will only crank if i keep putting starting fluid in it. what would be the problem?

bad fuel pump, loose wiring, blown fuse, or bad fuel pump relay. don't think just because a fuel pump is brand new out of the box it's good. i got an A/C delco fuel pump, installed it in the customers truck tried to start it .... nothing. checked all wiring, grounds, fuse, relay etc. everything was good. pulled the pump back out of the tank and wired it direct to a battery and it did nothing. got another pump installed worked just fine.

98 Suburban: Loses electrical like a short robbing power to drive

Perhaps alternator is not charging the battery properly
Test with a voltmeter - fully charged battery should read approx. 12.8 without engine running
With engine running should read 13.8-14.2 .

Check the sparkplug wires and make sure the sparkplus are tight
also check the two basic and very common thinks for this problem.the fuel pump and fuel filter.
if the pump is clogged and filter is dity this can occur.as when ever the fuel gets clogged ,this would make the car stall out and lose power as soon as the engine stopped sucking the fuel due to the debris .
check out this.
thanks, please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.
