SOURCE: I'm buying my friend's Goldwing

Check the kill switch rock it back and forth to be sure it is making contact. Open it up and spray it with contact cleaner that is safe for plastics available at radio shack. After sitting for four years I would start with the fuel system. New filter and NEW GAS and check the fuel lines for cracks and leaks. I have seen bikes that sat for 6 months and needing the carburetors cleaned and reset.

SOURCE: v-star 650 won't start and

Replace your right switch assembly on the handle bar. Your starter button is dirty or broken and the only way to replace it is to replace the assembly. Your starter button is a two position switch that both turns off the headlight to direct more power to the starter and activates your starter solenoid. Either the right switch assembly has become unplugged from the harness inside the head light bucket or a broken power wire is causing the system to not work. But most likely a dirty or broken starter button is the cause of your problems.

SOURCE: Honda Valyrie has set for about a year. Installed

Do you have spark at the plugs? If so, how do they look, are they dry or wet and soaked with gas? The floats on these keihin carbs are prone to sticking after setting up awhile.

I would call that a good guess after five fuel pumps. Gosh, Jonah, paying for a little diagnostic testing would have saved you the cost of four fuel pumps.

Park neutral safety switch maybe be the reason for the no crank ! Try putting the vehicle in park ,then try to crank the engine . Testing the electrical circuit is the best way to trouble shoot this problem , along with do a voltage drop test on the starter circuit ! This will test the battery cables an connections .

Cranks but won't start sometimes. Also has cut out while idleing in traffic and again cranks but won't start. car has new battery.

From what i've seen over the years with the Chryslers i've encountered. Your describing to the "T" what appears to be a bad Crank Sensor. I will bet money that if you replace the crank sensor it will solve your problem. BUT...Also know that a bad fuel pump can do exactly what you describe in your statement. Once the pump get hot it gets to acting stupid, but yet again so can the Crank Sensor. Still, my money is on the Crank Sensor.

Hello. My 1997 Chevy Tahoe refuses to start. The problems began with a bad fuel pump. I changed. It worked. The fuel pump died again. I changed it again and it has been working. I parked it for two weeks....

Now you have a good battery & a starter that turns over the motor

Have you cycled the key on & off with a fuel pressure gauge on the
fuel rail?

Do you have a fuel filter that isn't over 3 or 4 years old?

Have you checked for spark while cranking ? Use an old plug on the wires,
if you have ignition wires, don't ground the wire without resistance

If you removed the ducting & MAF Sensor it won't start

Tell us what you checked & exactly how that was done.
