Bike wont start

I posted this for a similar problem, maybe it can help. Are you sure it's getting gas to the carbs? Some people don't realize the 99-02 SV650 has a vacuum-actuated fuel pump, and sometimes it can get stuck. Mine has had this problem, and it took me a while to determine it was the problem. I would guess it only happens after the bike has been sitting a while (ours unfortunately sat for a year or so without being run).

Best way to check it is to lift the tank (it's bolted to the frame on the right side of the engine just under the tank). Unplug the line toward the front of the motorcycle from the fuel pump, and connect some spare fuel hose to it running to a can next to the bike (don't want to get gas everywhere!). With everything else still connected, crank the bike for a short period to see if any fuel comes out (shouldn't take long). If not, then move backward and ensure fuel will flow from the vacuum-petcock when the bike is cranked. If that does work, your fuel pump needs some work. I was able to take mine apart and unstick it.

2006 Suzuki SV 650 will not turn over

Make sure your clutch lever, neutral position, kickstand and kill switches are all working. You could also try removing the negative lead for the battery for about 1 minute and reattaching, and trying again to see if that clears it.

SV650 seat removal

MMMM think you remove rear seat, and then pull a cable or wire to remove front one.

I would be checking for gunk in the main jet tat has come from the tank since starting indications are from wide open throttle just to keep it at idle

What is the fork oil capacity of a sv650 2002

This is Suzuki standard for a Pointy, sure someone will be along soon to say if Curvy is the same or not. Start at the standard air gap then see how it feels from there. Front fork oil capacity (each leg) : 490 ml (16.56/17.25 US/Imp oz) for SV650 488 ml (16 .49/17.18 US/Imp oz) for SV650S Fork oil level : 92 mm (3 .62 in) for SV650 94 mm (3.70 in) for SV650S

Hit rev limit. Now why won't it start?

it could be many things, faulty cdi unit, faulty generator pick.up coil, faulty ignition switch, faulty sidestand switch, alarm faulty if fitted, faulty wiring, faulty neutral light switch and/or clutch lever switch.i doubt both coils will go at the same time so its . probably not them.

My SV has been garaged for the last 2 and a half

Check the oil in the oil sump of the engine. Use the best grade engine oil of best quality. I prefer Duckhams Q, SAE 20W-50 for you bike.

I turn key on and no power at all

Assuming battery is fully charged use multi meter starting from battery keeping connection on live probe a crosse to earth at battery first to get reading then check to chassis/ frame and see if there is a difference in voltage than what you had across the battery terminals, If there is a difference of even half volt you have a poor connection

Starter spins but motor wont crank

Usually it's weak battery, thy to recharge or replace battery! If it's weak it can turn the starter but doesn't have enough power to engage the el. magnet to crank the machine.

Suzuki sv650s oil light came on while driving

Oil light on means little or no pressure. This can be because of a mechanical problem or fault/failure, or no oil, or wrong oil, or bad sensor. I recommend you trust the sensor until it is proven faulty. It is telling you there is a serious problem with the lubrication system . If you ignore this problem, you will probably ruin your engine and probably the transmission also as both share common oil.

How do i get in to change spark plug behind radiator

NO... remove the seat, then the gas tank. They can be tricky to get to and you need a socket extender but you get to them from the top. Use pre spaced fuses to make your life easier. Also apply a little motor oil on the threaded area before replacing them. Makes removing them a lot easier the next time.I recommend doing an oil change at the same time.

A week ago I started my bike let it warm up for 2

Go to the parts store and buy you a battery hydrometer, they are cheap, about 5 bucks. You can test the health of your battery with it. Just because it shows a full charge does not mean it has full power, the amperage it needs, your charger is only reading voltage. To test the charging system you will need a voltage meter...with engine running at 3500 RPM you should have at least 13.5vdc at the battery...
I hope this helps.
