Why won't spark plug socket go down plug hole far enough on 87 vs700 Suzuki?

It takes a special wrench. You may have to order it from a dealer or specialty tool dealer.

My clutch wont engage after replacing a broken

The cable needs to be adjusted to 1/16 inch of freeplay. If it is not engaging, the cable may be too tight. Should be able to adjust it at the lever.

I have replaced the battery and ignition unit on my 1985 suzuki 700 es, the bike really sounds like it wants to run but wont start. Starter turns but engine won't kick over. Any Ideas?

Is it getting gas properly? Has it been sitting around for a while? The carburators on motorcycles need to cleaned after sitting around. The jet could be full of varnish. Are you getting spark for sure? Pull out a spark plug and put it in the wire, crank it over and see if the spark plug sparks. When you pulled the plug was it wet at all with gas? Then it probably isn't getting gas right. Just some of the things you could try.

What is the spark plug gap for my 1987 suzuki 700

Spark plug gap is something that people will have different opinions, set them as per the manual. If you are buying new ones, they should be set as per the manufacturers specification and should not need adjustment. Never bang the plug against something to change the gap, adjust with some sort of lever. Plugs tend to fracture when hit hard enough and you might never know until it doesn't work.

All turn signals r out

If none of you turn signals are functioning I would first check the fuse and if thats fine check the blinker module.

I have a 1985 suzuki

Welcome to Fixya

If you remove any adjusting screws or jets, write down the number of turns it takes for removal and than put each one back the same number of turns. Before removing the carbs, drain them (assuming there is anything in them). Get a spray can of Berrymans carb cleaner (or another brand), and fill the float bowls full of cleaner by disconnecting the fuel lines and spraying into each fuel line until the level in the line is reaching the top of the float bowl. Wait for a couple of days while the cleaner softens the dried varnish residue in the carbs. Now remove the carbs as a set then dis-assemble and clean with a couple more cans of cleaner.

Below is a diagram of your carb. The same diagram with the entire carb assembly AND your entire bike can be found at Babbitt's. Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx

I have a 1985 Suzuki

I'm pretty sure your Suzuki has running lights on the front...in other words the bulbs are dual filament for the front, with a dimmer running filament and a brighter turn signal filament, and the back are just single filament turn signals.
If you look in the parts list there is one part number for front bulbs, another for rear.

If no one else answers this for you, you can obtain repair manuls on line. have you contacted a dealer for this information? Sometime they will help you, especially if you are buying parts from them. Basic info is that chains have master links in them, look for this and take the clips off the master link and the chain will come apart. I hope this helps somewhat.
