Bike has 16000 miles. ran
The "mechanic" who told you that is lying or stupid. Bikes come from the factory set to run properly, not miss and cut out. The first thing you need to do is find a different mechanic. I would try some different gasoline, perhaps add some "
Seafoam", check the spark plugs and spark plug wires, and look for vacuum leaks. Good luck.
Passing lamps won't come on
Passing lights. check all of the fuses, replace any fuse that's burned or cut in the middle. Flasher relay could also be the problem.
How do you set the
When you get to the clock, push and hold the button. The hour will flash - bump the button to go up. To get to the minute, push and hold again to get to the minutes, bump to go up. This is the method for the few Yamahas I have messed with although I've never messed with this particular model - but it's worth a try..

What would cause a lifter to collapse on a 2010
Sounds like a defective lifter.
Should still be Under warranty. Take it back let them fix it.
Checking around I found this tidbit:
"turned out that I screwed up and overfilled the bike with oil, which
apparently got aerated and managed to form an air bubble in one
hydraulic lifter Tappety tap. Removing a half quart of oil or so made the
problem go away."
Also read where there was a recall on these concerning the lifters.
Supports my theory it is possibly a defective part.
Since you only have 600 miles on the bike. This is the time to take it back to have the break in oil replaced. Have them check it.
Good luck!
Hope this helps.
