I just got a 05
You need to pull of tne carb and just clean it i mean on the inside Take the floot bowl off its the four scerws on the bottem see how much drit is in the bowl this will give an idia of the condition of the intake air system dirty filter or mabey split air boot Get a can of carb cleaner with the little red spray tube with it The problem sounds like the NEDDLE VALVE that is the valve thats shouts the fuel off when the floots reach there highest point and shouts the fuel off to the engine if it is not sealing the engine would be flooded with gas all the time and cause this problem So take off the carb drain the gas flip it upside down take the scrwes out of the floot bowl save the gasket remove the pin that holds the floots it slides out the neddle valve is drectely under this DON;T start bending tabs just clean the valve and valve seat now sand paper paper towel and carb cleaner then spray throught every venturey you can from the out side in to clean Then reinstall and it will work like new carberators are alway the problem good luck

Check all related wiring for loose or corroded terminal connections or a short to ground. Also, check the CDI to see if it is defective. Here is an article that explains pretty well how to test the CDI, but just because the test turns out positive, it doesn't necessarily meant that it is good. It may work fine one minute, and then just fail without notice. That may be why dealers say that CDI can't be tested, that and they probably wants to sell you one. If the test shows that the CDI is not working, then you definately know it is no good.

On the solenoid vibrating issue, it may be that the battery needs recharging/replacing. Jump it with 12 volts and check the voltage while running, it should be between 12-15 volts.

Can you adjust the main jet? Have you cleaned the varible jet or slide? What shape is the vacumn diaphram in? Have you checked the ignition timing,i presume it is solid state ignition?
How about the carb did you clean any with gummout?

Check sparkplug gap..
If the bike runs okay other than backfire try clean carb or take it off an get a pro to do this . It could be a very cheap fix..Worked for me..

Oil amount for yzf 450
periodic change 1 litre
with oil filter change 1.1 litre
total 1.2 litre
one litre is ligtly less than a US qt
Check the level after running the bike for a couple of minutes
make sure You use motorcycle oil, car oils have friction modifiers in them that will cause clutch slip
Can you register a yzf 450 for street use
It would be possible but probably too expensive, there are some private compliance certifying companies that do the compliance plates for many of the low volume imports. but you would need most of the WR electrics and muffler. Easier to start with a WR and fit the YZ cams.
So even if you can find a WR wreck that has the compliance plate and rebuild it with the YZ bits,it would still need the WR;s engine number

remove clutch cover,hold water pump shaft on flats on shaft and undo impellor by nut cast on impellor. remove old bearings and seals.check shaft for grooving where seal runs and replace if any.assemble in reverse order with new seals and bearings etc
Got ratle in engine loud noise
any idea where it's coming from? ie, front motor, tranny, clutch, head? cant answer without more info. but i wouldnt ride it until you figure it out. loud noises are bad.

Check valve clearances
raise the needle jet one notch
one size up in the main jet.
check one item at a time, and write notes about jetting changes.and improvements
I also run Moreys upper cylnder lube, helps starting hot or cold, and helps stop "cough stopping" with heavy rear brake use
