Turn signals not working
Ok, consider it kind of like a warning system. You have some blown bulbs and the way it tells you this, it stays solid. The opposite stays off. If it is the back that stays on, then the front bulb is blown and needs to be replaced. Same on all vehicles that use the flasher system.
Turn lights on complete display goes out
Not quite sure about your light problem, but sound like you might have something mis-wired from the ignition switch check the cannon plug for any bent or shorted pins, as far as the hesitation since the bike hasnt been used in awhile im sure the carbs/fuel injectors are all varnished up, you need to purchase some Sea Foam @ Autozone $10 pour in 1/3 can to 2 gallons fuel and replace or clean out your fuel filter if that hasnt been done, now ride it on an open highway for about 10 to15 miles and that stuff should clean it up and even return any lost hp.
2001 r6 keeps pushing all the water out of the expansion tank and when hot does not want to run
Possibly has air in the coolant system causing the coolant to boil. You can flush the whole thing if your coolant is in need, but mainly open the radiator cap and shake all hoses to release air while adding more coolant. Also may be the radiator cap spring (maybe). I am not sure about why it will not start up... maybe a sensor will not allow it.* I am not certified in anyway and have minimal knowledge, my 05 r6 had air in the coolant and would boil out of the overflow. Make sure you use distilled water to avoid corrosion.
2002 600r won't turn over
I dont know a lot about newer motorcylces but I can try to narrow it down for you with my knowledge of motors in general. First off unless it has a kick start, it wont start on a dead battery, if the battery died while trying to start it, it is possible that the battery was too weak to do so and may need replaced. Try putting it on a trickle charger and having it tested to make sure it isn't just bad. from there check your spark, hows the plug? coil? no spark = no start. still nothing? check fuel, start with the filter, or if the plug was wet when you checked it that SHOULD mean its getting gas. if you have spark and you think your getting gas or cant tell, try using starting fluid (take off your air filter and spray it in the intake tube as you try to start it, if it fires up, runs for a few seconds then stops, there's a good chance its a fuel issue. Just a few ideas for you to look into, I know cars but not bikes but the concept is basically the same. good luck, hope you can get it running again before the weather gets too cold to enjoy it !
Feels like gears are slipping with any kind of power
If you are hearing a bad grinding noise then Stop riding the bike NOW. If you continue to ride, or run the engine, you will only do more internal damage and make the repair cost higher. Chances are you have a bent shift fork and the noise is the engaging dogs on the slider gear grinding the side of a fixed gear because the bent fork is preventing full engagement.
The entire engine comes out of the frame and gets completely torn down. The top end comes off, the case covers come off, the clutch, shift shaft, kick starter, flywheel and electrics all come off. Then the case is split to gain access to the gears and shift drum. The gears and shift drum now get removed and now the fork can be replaced. If a gear needs to be replaced because of a broken teeth, replace also any gear the teeth mesh with. A few special tools are needed. Sorry for having to give you the bad news.

I have a 2000 r6 and the other day when I was
Check voltage at the battery terminals. it should be approx 13-14 volts when running at about 2000 revs. these are not specific to your bike , these numbers may be as high as 14.7volts or 3000 revs. revs are usually at just above idle. If the voltage at the battery terminals is below 13 you have a problem with your alternator or regulator/rectifier. Incidentally the battery voltage is DC.
Havnt used bike 4 a
Sounds as if you have a cooling problem, either fan failure or coolant leak. hope this helps.

Get your bike set up on a rolling road (Dyno) this should cure this problem. Whenever you modify the induction or exhaust system on a production Engine system there will be a compromise. Manufacturers set up these systems to be optimised in all conditions, this will mean less power or torque in certain parts of the rev range.

a fuel reserve is just that...reserve incase you run low in your main tank.
leave it off when starting and running unless you run out in the main tank
2000 yamaha r6. has trouble
Sounds like your pilot circuits on your carbs are dirty. Buy a can of "SeaFoam" pour 1/2 of the can in to a full tank of gas, use the 1/2 on the next tank of gas. This stuff works good and will clean the entire fuel system, valves & combustion chambers. Replace your spark plugs with a new set of ngk cr10ek gapped at .0255. Check your charging system and rectifier to insure proper voltage. Clean terminals and inspect wirining harness and connectors for any corrision. Make sure your air filter is clean. Check for vacuum leaks around carb mounts & cylinder head...This will usually take care of the hard starting conditions on the R6. I hope this helps...good luck with your bike.

Sounds like your second gear planet gear is not fully engageing, it could be worn down. also the shift fork could be out of adjustment. If you hold it in second, will it stay?
