Starts good with a jump

Battery and/or charging system is not good. Put charger on battery, bring to full charge, then put load tester on battery ensuring battery not weak or a dead cell. If battery is good, check charging system.

Jump started with battery cables.

Typically the stator generates power to meet the electrical needs of the bike....however, at lower rpm the output of the stator is low.
Since your battery is obviously severely discharged, when you boosted the bike, the stator output kept the voltage up to keep the ignition system functioning properly. When you unhook the cables, suddenly current flows back to the battery to recharge it....reducing the current available to the bike, so the voltage drops....and the ignition fails.
Remove the battery from the bike and recharge it at the rate specified on the case...if its not a maintenance free, ensure the cell levels are normal, add distilled water if needed.
If its maintenance free (holes taped over) leave as is. After overnight charging, test the voltage on the posts....looking for 12,6 V or greater.
Clean terminals, reinstall battery and retry.

My temp gauge isnt working at all, and i checked

Have you earthed out the wire at the temp sensor this should make the gauge move up to max, you have checked the wiresyou say, so did you have a voltage at the gauge? the gauge works on alive feed, and earth through the temp sensor, i presume you do have water in the system, the gauge wont work without water.

Could you please tell me if a thunderace engine

It is NOT a direct bolt in by any means. If you have enough time money and talent, anything can be made to fit but if you are looking for something to bolt up and go, that is NOT it. TOTALLY different cases.

My bike is making a grinding noise when I ride

Could be a few things but the 1st check would be the chain tension. It may be to tight.Put 2 people on the bike and check it then.Check for signs of touching in the rear wheel area, around the plastic covers and also up under the seat.Hope this helps
