suck the vacum pipe on the fuel tap to let fuel into carbs

Bit of a b%^&% to see it. there is a window low down on the left below and behind the gear level. it gets covered in crud from the chain. easier if you get a mate to slightly tip the bike while you lie on your side and check if oil move in/out of window. it should be halfway up with the bike level and engine stopped. this was an 'improvement' by triumph - earlier trophies had a dip stick on the left with the filler. only downside was when you changed the chain and front sprocket you had to dump the engine oil - duh!

first check front tyer is not worn out,,ie have bumps in tred,, and wheel bearings and head race bearings then fork bushes,, then balance road wheel, ,,,if all are in good order,, get a long straight bit of wood and check that it tuches all parts of the road wheels frount and back by holding it on the road wheels this is to check that both road wheels are in a straight line and not pointing in different directions,,,
some bikes dont like some tires,, have you just had new ones fitted,,
a bmw will throw you all over the road if you fit the wrong tires on it,,and it will still play up if there over half worn down too,,

It's your crank angle pick up for your ignition timing. When they fail they go open circuit when hot then at cold they close again so hard to diagnose as resistance reading will be fine when cold. About 45 GBP for a genuine triumph one. About an hours work to fit it inside right hand crank shaft end cover.

there will be a small screw,or rubber cap on each intake manifold, one of these may have a hose to the fuel tap, attach a gauge to each manifold, if there are screws, there should be a set of little pipes supplied with the gauges, to screw into the manifolds and attach the hoses.
you will need a tempory fuel supply.
an industrial workshop fan can help cool the engine if it takes to long.
check all other things first, plugs.leads,valve clearances,air cleaner, oil change.
They shouldnt need huge adjustments, as its really only to compensate for wear in the linkages .
If the vacumns are a long way out it could be something else like a blocked jet, intake leak,valve problem

Clutch switch at bar end is busted and needs replacing, common problem, about 12 quid from a dealer, thinks bike is in gear with no clutch

Might be a sight glass (view the oil level in a window) or it will be on the filler cap - usually on the right side of the engine in any case (look real low on the side of the engine for the sight-glass.

Spark plugs are in the engine head, look for thick wire about 4-5mm going to usually a big black connector, The connector will pull off, spark plug is the bit it pulled off from.

Air leaks into the exhause can cause backfiring on the overrun.

Use a fresh 3M green scrub pad on the forks. Next get a can of clear spray enamel and give the forks multiple light dustings. The light dustings prevent any possibility of runs in the paint. The coats will "seal up" the bad spots and also prevent the problem in the future.
