2003 Suzuki DR-Z 400 S Questions & Answers
Drz400s can i fit a 130x18 rear tyre
Hi. Just check that it doesn't contact your swing arm, i.e measure room against tyre width. Otherwise it should fit. 120 tyre would be easier for your bike to pull in the dirt.
2003 Suszuki DRZ difficult to start.
Make sure you are using the choke - which is actually not a choke, but a fuel enrichment circuit in the carburetor. The lever is located down on the carburetor. Also, you can try draining the fuel from the carburetor float bowl. Sometimes, just enough water will collect in there to make it difficult to start when cold.
Hi ther my suzuki drz
The DRZ has quite a broad power band, you may not feel anything. If it revs right through its rev range, this may be normal
My bike does not keep
If the bike won't hold a charge.. The most common problem is usually the simplest. The battery. check your battery properly. Just because a battery reads 12 VDC when you stick the volt meter on it, doesn't mean that is functioning correctly. So…be sure the electrolyte (the water/acid mix) in your battery is between the lines or marks on the battery in all of the cells. If it's low, pop off the cap(s) and fill it towards the top of the area with DEIONIZED or DISTILLED water (most tap water contains minerals that will reduce the effectiveness of the battery). Now that you've topped it off, try recharging the battery overnight with a trickle charger. You'll want to charge it in the garage (or outside) and be sure to put a board or something else under it, in case some of the (very) acidic electrolyte boils over during charging.
If you have the luxury of owning or having access to a "load tester", you can see if the battery holds its voltage level with a load applied.
Ok, so your recharging didn't work. See if it'll let you jump-start it (if you choose not to read my explanation on jump starting - please BE CAREFUL when jumping to do it correctly!!!). If your problem is just the alternator or the battery, jumping should work.

Battery keeps dying in my
Check your voltage at the battery with the engine running. If it is not at least 13.5 or so you have a problem with your charging system. Else, it is likely the battery. I would tend to think the battery is the culprit more than the stator.
The components in the bike needs to be checked:--
Note: Check general condition of any visible wires unplug and replug connectors on charging circuit to clean off corroded terminals (it’s yanking at straws but sometimes it helps.
At 5k the bike should put out +14.5V at the battery
Check resistance of coils . Use voltmeter on AC setting and check output of each wire while bike runs. At about 5k RPM it should read +50V. If not replace stator.
If stator checks OK see what the DC volts output is at the voltage regulator. Should be +14.5V at 5kRPM. If not replace regulator.
1) Start bike and measure voltage at battery....with a good stator hopefully it's up around 13 volts....now rev the engine and hopefully the voltage goes up with RPM's to maybe around 14 volts.
2) This test is to check the resistance across the stator windings....unplug the stator at the regulator / rectifier...there will be 3 yellow wires that go to a 3 prong plug. WITH THE ENGINE OFF check resistance between all of the yellow wires in the plug.....any open across any 2 means the stator windings are open and it's bad. You should have about 1 ohm which is hard to judge unless you have a digital multimeter. With an analog meter it should be heading towards zero which is good.
3) Check all windings to ground. If the meter goes to zero ohms as you check any winding to ground - stator is internally grounded and is bad. This is most common ailment as one of the windings burn up and lose it's outer insulation coating shorting the windings to ground. When you pull the cover, one of the coils will be dark brown to black.

add a pcv valve by disconnecting the hose form the breather box and installing a universal crank case vent pcv valve p.c.v positive crankcase ventilation
this should solve your problem, you can purchase this valve at any parts store like advance auto parts o reilly or auto zone
Where is the rectifier located on my 2004 suzuki katana 600
Behind the radiator on the left side. It is the device with cooling fins, even though the electronic parts are embedded in rubber paste. The location isn't ideal and sudden defects leave people stranded so what people do is relocate the regulator/rectifier to a cooler place. Perhaps to the air inlet, under the air filter. Follow the three, mostly, yellow cables that originate from the stator when you don't find it behind the radiator.

Why my Suzuki TF 125 losses power in the midway? What are the causes for such loss of power?
What do you mean by "Midway"? How old is this motorbike? What exactly did you do to clean the carburettor? Is it a new spark plug and a new, clean air filter? Did you empty the fuel tank to remove the fuel tap to clean the filter on the inside of the tap?
Is it doing anything else? Things like - is it hard to start, has heavier exhaust smoke or it has a rough and uneven idle.

Where is air/fuel screw on a suzuki vs 800 intruder
The air/fuel mixture screw on a Suzuki VS800 Intruder is typically located on the carburetor. To adjust the air/fuel mixture, you'll need to locate the carburetor and look for a small screw that can be turned.
Keep in mind that the exact location of the screw may vary slightly depending on the model year and specific carburetor version on your VS800 Intruder. Generally, it is located on the bottom or side of the carburetor.
Here are the general steps to locate and adjust the air/fuel mixture screw:
1. Locate the Carburetor: The carburetor is usually positioned on the side or underside of the engine. Follow the intake manifold or air filter housing to find the carburetor.
2. Identify the Air/Fuel Screw: Look for a small screw on the carburetor. This screw is typically flat-headed and may be recessed. It is often located near the bottom of the carburetor.
3.Adjustment: With the engine running at idle, use a screwdriver to turn the air/fuel mixture screw. Turning it clockwise (in) usually leans out the mixture, while turning it counterclockwise (out) enriches the mixture.
4. Listen to the Engine: As you make adjustments, listen to the engine's sound. The goal is to find the point where the engine runs smoothly and the idle is stable.
5. Fine-Tune: Make small adjustments and give the engine a moment to respond before making further changes. It's a process of trial and error to find the optimal setting.
6. Check the Owner's Manual: Refer to your motorcycle's owner's manual for specific guidance on the location and adjustment of the air/fuel mixture screw. The manual will provide information tailored to your bike's make and model.
If you're uncomfortable making these adjustments yourself or if you're unsure about the location of the screw, it's advisable to consult a professional mechanic or refer to the specific service manual for your Suzuki VS800 Intruder.
