Headlamps wiring

In the headlight there is the main globe (bulb/lamp) which generally has three(3) wires to it. This is HI beam and LO beam along with "common" (earth.....green).The small globe is the "running" light and the Brown and Green connect to this. This light comes on when the ignition (or lights) is switched on, off the rear tail light circuit. In the headlight "Nancelle" (the big chrome housing the headlight fits in to) there will be A: a GREEN connector and B: a BROWN connector. The green is earth and the brown is the lighting circuit for all running lights, just reconnect.

Plugs fouled

there are two ways plugs foul up is too much fuel or oil is getting in to the cylinders, does the bike blow excesive amont of smoke on start up and when you are riding, and is it one spark plug or all if it is a single plug and comes out black with oil then it could be a vave seal or it could be a damaged oil ring on your piston ,if it is doing it on all cylinders then more than likely the piston and rings need replacing and the bores to be honed or rebored to the next size piston and rings, hope tis helps cheers pete

1987 suzuki intruder 1400 ,

A bad contact in the ignition system: as the bike runs the current flowing thru the system heats up the components, including the pins in a contact, that expand and start breaking the contact.
You will need to inspect all the contacts with the engine hot, starting with the contacts on the ignition module - under the tank, on the left.

2003 Suzuki Intruder 1400 misfires

Hello bragg, sounds like you either have a vacuum leak and/or a fuel delivery problem. If you can plug the plugs and check the condition it will help to determine which cylinder and carb is causing the problem. The pilot jet may be clogged, causing you to have use the choke. If the spark plug is a greyish or light brown color, that would indicate a lean fuel mixture. Black would be rich and fouling. Also check for vacuum leaks around the carb mounts...let me know what you find.
I hope this helps.

Lower carberator has fuel leaking

Either a carb float is stuck open or some trash is holding the float needle open. Remove the float bowl and use spray carb cleaner to remove any trash, or varnish, ( from evaporated fuel ).

Not realy a problem more

Not really a feasable option, the chain or belt driving the cams would be on the wrong side and the cam timing would run in reverse, there would be oil feed problems, the cylnder bolts would not be symetrical, etc in other words you would probably need to recast the crankcase and the rear barrel, make new cams, inlet tubes and exhaust.
but good luck with it

I have a 2000 VS1400

take in mind the setting that they give you is a base setting somewhere to start to get you in the ball park. your rear cylinder going have larger jets then you front due to heat. and where you live is going to affect the jetting as will. this is how you fix your problem. first what is everything set at i.e. main and pilot jet in front carb, needle clip setting (from bottom) and air/fuel. write this down send it to me. next what color is the front plug, what color is the rear plug. what you want is nice coffee cream tan.
Now you can't base dynojet jet sizes ex. o.e.m main jet 150 you could have a dynojet main of the same size but the number will WAY different. I have asked them a dozen times if once why they don't was oem sizing to make things easier on us and all the say "our jets, our sizing" write this info down we will need it later. Get it back to me and we will jet this thing right
fix it right, ride it fast

I NEED TO BLEED THE

Easy job, thing to remember is not to let the fluid level to become to low, as air will enter the system, then things become more difficult, use a length of tube correct diamiter to fit tightly over the bleed nipple on the clutch slave cylinder, left hand side engine, protect the paintwork by placing a cloth around the nipple, place tube in container containing a small amount of fluid, this will omit air entering the system while the nipple is open, now undo the cap on the master cylinder, set the lever at number1 to give full movment of the cylinder, at this time it makes sense to replace all the fluid in this system, rember do not allow the fluid to run out completly, open the nipple, gently pull in the lever the fluid will be pumped out with this action, hold the lever in and dont let go until you have closed off the nipple, repeat this action untill all the fluid has been changed, thus omiting any air from the system your. System has now been bled.Pull lever in nipple open, close nipple release lever, repeat over and over, untill finished tighten nipple clean away any spilled fluid rite away, hope this helps. Paul

Looking for a great coolant

I race a 250 four stroke, and with the engine pushing out some high compression, and running race fuel, and muddy conditions, that make it run hot...I empty the system, fluch it out with distilled water, and refill with "engine ice coolant." Seems to run cooler.
