Start checking fuses

The hum is the fuel pump, it should run a couple seconds then turn off till you hit the starter. If it stays on with the key off the relay is likely sticking. If it's only on with the key on it could be the relay or a fault in the ECM. Verify that the relay and the signal wire haven't been bypassed; been there. Check the obvious things first. Like is there any power in the battery? If so then is it reasonably charged up? If so then it may well be either the starter unit or the "ignition switch").

buy a new one, test with a light or voltage tester, oand if power has the horn got a nut on the front turn to tune it with button in

could be the cover has slipped, if the outer casing moves it can reverse the polarity, see if it is loose, and if so move about whilst someone attempts to start

What does it say in the manual? If you haven't got one then go to the Suzuki website and have a rummage around.

HAVE YOU TRIED ARCING THE STARTER SOLANOID if this works try another one. or the fuse in it

you need to bridge the terminals on the small white block under back seat, then turn ignition on to read the fault code

without the specialty tools for the job. you'll never get it apart with out damaging something..so take some good advice and have a trained tech fix it for you..cause after you spend the money and time tracking down all tools needed its probably going to cost you more. Are you sure the stators bad? Has it been tested? Have you tested your loom for shorts? Have you ruled out every other possibility? just asking good luck. I would check the whole starting system before spending any money on unnecessary parts because most electrical parts are non returnable and quite costly..

did you charge the new one first, or leave the acid in it over night.

Common on a lot of bikes my v max h\d this problem, check the earth cables, and maybe replace with a thicker on.

clutch is out of adjustment. When you shifted down did you speed shift down or use the clutch. Maybe then clutch cable broke, or even worse internal clutch damage or bent shifting fork. If you can shift thru all your gears than shifting forks good. Than its a clutch only problem. But still can be internal damage. Good luck

this is either fuel delivery problem. Or vacuum leaks possibly. Hard to say without hearing and seeing it..good luck

It is the starter Relay over top of the Battery box. You will have to take the side fairing off to get to it. it has a four wire plug in it and two fuses and to wires coming off. just unplug the plug take the hot lead from battery off the relay and then the starter wire off and replace.

slipping? my fzr250 doing the same until i adjusted it heaps better but still not right

The first place to look is the battery, if its old or a little flat from sitting, it can cause the start relay to click in and out rapidly without having enough power to turn the bike over.

warning Jumping of a car battery can sometimes overload the charging circuit.

Try a small charger and check the battery water, but if the battery is a few years old get a new one

i have a 2000 tlr and have had the same problem.i am going to try a factory tlr battery this time . its more money but hopefully less headaches.
