My friend, a motorcycle is not a Toyota pick up. Don't even try to fix it at this point of your motorcycle career.

By nature, air cooled engines have a wider range of normal operating temperatures. Even if your bike has a radiator, it is still more motorcycle engine than automotive engine.

Since this is your first bike, I recommend two things for you. First, seek out a Motorcycle Safety Training Course, such as the BRC from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Yea yea, I know, you know how to ride and maybe you do. If you take the course, you may get some good tips and probably a discount on your insurance. Second, take your bike to the Suzuki dealer and have them go over the bike mechanically for you to make sure all is up to snuff on your 11 year old bike. Get a tune up and ask the mechanic about your bike. What to lube, where the oil goes etc. You should become very good friends with your new motorcycle - believe me when I say - it is a far cry from driving any other kind of vehicle.

Your investment of $ and time spent with the mechanic and your BRC instructor will pay dividends for many years to come. Good riding to you my friend. Enjoy your new motorcycle and ride safe.

this is the drive on your model, sits behind the front sprecket cover, could be thepick up that bolts in with a small allan bolt from the outside, or the allan bolt has come loose behind that cover. see this on ebay, check all other things first. 232513965549

main ignition fuse , fuses should be left fairing side on intake duct?

just a suggestion but your grounds are ok

either a vacuum hose has come loose or is worn/cracked, or you might have a leaking head gasket.
when engine is running at a normal idle,... spray some carb cleaner around hose fittings and the intake manifolds one carb at a time..if the idle goes up..there's your problem.

stop running it so hard. check your plugs and wires then check distributer or coil pack which ever it has.

You will need to get a mechanical gauge to check for sure, but it sounds like your oil pump is not pumping enough pressure, or you have a big clearance somewhere in your motor that you are losing pressure at.

Sounds like ur iap sensor also known as boost sensor is it smoking any blackish grayish smoke an does the exaust smell bad ???

Definitely a charging issue. Always check the battery first, I prefer a gel cell battery over acid. Battery must be good and strong to charge properly. This charging system is so small , it only operates enough to maintain battery voltage. Normally it wont charge a weak battery, so start there first. you can check the voltage coming from the stator, at 3k RPM you should be getting around 60-80 volts per leg. If each stator leg checks within these results, it will be a good stator. The reg/rect is not something I can tell you how to check on the bike. We have a stand alone system here where we bench test them off the bike to eliminate the rest of the system to test Just the reg/rect.I have these stators here new also have the reg/rect, both have a one year warranty. The FI light refers to F uel I njection. The sensors on the fuel injection system have detected a problem. It could be anything from a dirty air filter to fuel mapping errors. You need to take the bike to a dealer and have them hook up a code reader. The reader will tell what problem has been detected. Then you can decide if you want to fix it yourself or if the dealer should do the repair. Could you take a moment and rate my answer. Thanks.

"Tune up" would mean engine tuning only
plugs
airfilter
valve clearances
and possibly check the carb sync

"service"
change or check all fluids and oil
new oil filter
check and inflate tyres
check wheel bearings, swing arm, head bearings
adjust chain.
check battery and all lights
check brake wear
road test
check for oil leaks
check for loose bolts
and may be a couple of other things, depending on milages and overall bike condition

extra would be carb overhaul, new brake pads or wheel bearings etc


The problem is some repairers may short cut a few steps, put in some new plugs and give it a big rev for a tune, and change oil and filter for a service.

Best to get an itemized quote first so you both know what is expected and how much.

If your going to do it yourself, chase down a manual and work your way through

sounds like your charging system went out, this isn't a new problem to bikes and alot of older bike have this issue. First was your car running when you jump started your bike?? If so this can cause damage to the charging system. if your not sure how to replace the stator and reg/rec i will happey to help you get it done. please understand that this does take some thinking and removing the tail, left hand body parts and the lh side cover of the motor. If your will to take it on let me know. If not your local bike shop can fix your bike in about a week if they have to order parts. the stator on your bike isn't the cheapest and reg/rec isn;t that bad as far as price goes. you'll need oil a filter and a new gasket for the motor cover and the charging system parts.

You have to prime the fuel pump before it will respond.

Remove the exhaust pipes, then try it. If the exhaust is mostly blocked, once you stop trying to start it, the pressure in the exhaust will push the engine backward.

Also, a very lean mixture will cause backfiring. The flame travel through a really lean mixture is about the speed you walk, and is still making its way through the mixture when the cranking stops, then it flows up the intake port through an open valve, if there is one, and you get a rapid burn between the carb and the valve.
